Some high profile Catholics have rubbished the St Malachy papal prophesy but I think that that is a big mistake. Balaam (Nm 22:5) the Old Testament seer who was into divination was used by God to deliver a Messianic prophesy (Nm 24:17). Now this Balaam was condemned by St Peter in 2 Pt 2:16, by St Jude (Jd 11) and by the Risen Lord in the book of Revelation 2:14. God can used crooked paths to lead us to a truth. Whether the St Malachy papal prophesies are forgeries or not may not be important. We could have a document that God has allowed to exist to warn the Church of something momentous that is going to happen between the reign of Pope Benedict and the Last Pope.

If you can prove that the “St Malachy” prophecies were actually made by Saint Malachy, then I’ll give them some credence.

Those prophecies sound more like horoscopes to me. “Glory of the olive”? Give me a break.

I’m not really into these prophesies but let me say, long time EWTN personality Patrick Madrid was on the Drew Mariani show on Relevant (Catholic) Radio yesterday afternoon.

It was fascinating and enjoyable to listen to and was NOT much like most of the posts you read here, not saying Madrid gave credence to these predictions nor the opposite, it was just informative and I thought straight down the middle.

For those who want to listen to that interview:

See February 13th, 3rd hour. You can listen to it.

(and for the record, the show should be in the archives about 2 or 3 weeks).

Spent less time worrying and more time abiding, and then you will worry less 🙂 That’s my recipe.

I know that I’ve been a prophecy hunter and uber-worrier in my time. I’ve read so many prophecies, from Mother Shipton to Malachi and Nostradamus. I remember being in Saint Paul’s in Rome, and seeing only two more spots for popes, I would fret about it.
Now, when it’s all over the airwaves again.

For me, it doesn’t matter anymore. I try to abide in Christ, because that’s what he call us to do. To do what he desires is the only good. To serve, to love, to forgive, to pray for my brothers and sisters. I think the only real prophecy comes from Christ himself… (one of many Matthew 25:42)

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Bless you all. I think that if indeed these are the end times, you were chosen to participate in this special time for a reason. Perhaps to be a light unto the world, a lover of Christ no matter what, a protector of the Holy Eucharist. Pray and ask God my friends!

Something momentous is always happening in this fight between good and evil.😉

This won’t count for much ,but if I do have the gift of prophecy. I get the feeling that this has more credit to it than most people think. The Lord comes to me in many ways when telling me prophecies for people. I think we need to be carful with this one. Lets watch what this Pope does then make a decision.
