I am having a little trouble with Genesis

It’s an artificial distinction. The four “letters” that make up DNA can be rearranged in endless permutations… leading to every form of life on the planet. If one “letter” can be added or changed, then another can, and another, and another.

I would expect so, since dinosaurs did not go extinct, as much as they just evolved: into birds.

No it is not. That is what they tell you, but reason it out. Micro is very limited in how it can change the organism. Macro evo is adding novel features etc. There is a big difference.
No it isn’t. The only difference is time scale.

The scientific world awaits the evidence of the ID theory. If correct, then science will form a consensus. Until then, this is some unproven hypothesis.

Personally, I will wait and read and try to keep an open mind. I won’t open my mind so much that my brains fall out, however.
We are there…

Not the conclusion of any mainstream scientists nor mainstream Catholic theologians…
The top evos know this already and has made it into the literature. That is why they are now trying to explain it through the EES.

Why would dinosaurs offspring start to sprout feathers ?How is a couple of feathers poking through their scales is going to make them fit for anything?

You don’t have to box yourself into an either/or choice or interpretation of Genesis, namely, either an old universe and earth with evolution or a young universe and earth without evolution based on 6, twenty-four hour days creation. Neither of these interpretations may be true. The Genesis creation days can be interpreted as indefinite periods of time without evolution either cosmic or darwinian/biological and without being more or less in exact historical/chronological order.

Catholics are not required to be “young earth creationists”.

We are required to believe that however it happened, God started everything in motion from nothing and that there were two original parents.

Because many Catholic people have been heavily influenced by their Protestant neighbors.

  1. The first man was created by God. (De fide.)
  2. The whole human race stems from one single human pair. (Sent. certa.)
These are (simplified) doctrinal assertions (excerpted from Dr. Ludwig Ott’s Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma) about the appearance of humanity on our little blue planet. The first is De Fide dogma, essential to the integrity of our faith. The second is a certain teaching, although it does not have the full solemnity of a dogmatic definition, so there is some room for development on the issue of monogenism.

Science can give us some insight into how we developed, but not whether or not we are created (or why). Evolution can be thought of as creation in time. We’re not open to believing we are some alien project, or that humanity stems from a variety of material sources.

These examples just keep coming…

More from the “magic” and “fantasy world” of natural selection and random mutations. We have to crack the fiendishly complex code… 😀

Move over, DNA. Life’s other code is more subtle and far more powerful

Our cells use a sugary language to identify and interact with each other. Cracking it will let us marshal stem cells and create alternatives to antibiotics

Sugary handshakes aren’t just involved in baby-making. It turns out that every type of cell in our bodies has a unique sugar coating. And whenever anything interacts with a cell, it must recognise that sugar code and use the appropriate secret handshake. It happens when bacteria and viruses infect us, when a growing brain cell feels its way past its neighbours, and when our stem cells receive the marching orders that will define what type of tissue they will develop into.

Learn to read and write this sugary language, then, and we would have a powerful new way of intervening in cells’ activities to control disease and plenty besides. It won’t be easy. Unlike DNA, this code is fiendishly complex. But we are finally beginning to master the language of our cells

What’s your point? I responded to a joke about why dinosaurs taste like chicken. Not really worth starting a long debate over.

Ever heard if Father Spitzer? He is has a tv show “Father Spitzer’s universe” in which he talks about science and Faith for non-science people although he does say things only science guys will understand
