Hisalone, when you make those claims, just realize that Catholics shake their head in wonderment. Why?

Because we want to wake you up from your misconceptions of our faith. We’ve heard that argument before, you know. Do you know that we don’t think that it is the leaders of our Church that save us? Do you know that we fervently profess that Christ alone saves us? Do you realize that you are yet another victim of anti-Catholic sentiment? We really want, in all charity, to awaken you from the cloud of confusion you are in. I’d get into the details of why following The Church IS following Christ, as He intended it to be, but I’m sure you’ve heard all that too…and still don’t get it.

I still dont get it because it is a “different gospel”. It is so obvious to me yet it is as if you guys are in a trance and just dont get it. It is a distorted gospel that you teach not a true one. The true Gospel of Jesus Christ is simple and laid out clearly in scripture.

What exactly do you claim is different and/or distorted? And may I charitably ask you, who taught you your “correct” version of the gospel? How is it that it is so clear and obvious to you, when Scripture says otherwise about itself? You might want to refer to my post #19 above before you answer.

Hisalone, for a former Catholic, you are very disrespectful in another’s home. You know perfectly well that the Church is Catholic…Universal. Adding words like “Roman” to redirect doesn’t work. The Church is Catholic, as always believed. You have seriously departed from orthodox teachings of ancient Christianity. Only misdirected folks use the term “Roman Catholic” to mean Catholic Church. The Church of Christ is Christ’s Church, the last I’ve heard is that the term Catholic Church and Church of Christ are interchangeable. BUt I’ve also read that the Catholic Church subsists in the Church of Christ. No matter. The eternal word of God resides within the deposit of faith which is with the Catholic Church… Without the Church there would be no agreed upon canon of scripture. That’s basic history.

There’s one thing to reject the faith. But another thing to lead someone else away. You need to stop coming here to taunt people for your own misguided attempts to lead us to your misguided understanding of truth. You don’t know other men’s conscience or the “nature of their souls”. Out of all the people posting on her I find you to be the most mislead person on here that attempts to hurl you anger at the big body of Christ called the Catholic Church. Make peace with your decisions and move on or come back home.

The Word of God NEVER says being born again is water baptism.

“Water baptism” is a redundant term; you just said “water covering it in water.” The word “Baptise” is Greek for “to cover in water,” or “to make it wet”. We are born again “by water and the Spirit” - these are the essential elements of the Sacrament of Baptism.

Jesus and the Apostles make it very clear that we become born again and that our sins are washed away when we are baptized. See John 3:5; Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 42; Acts 8:12, Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:3; and there are many more.

When Jesus rebuked Saul for persecuting the Catholic Church, He said to him, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?” Acts 9:4. The Catholic Church is the living Body of Jesus Christ - whatever we do to the Catholic Church, we do to Jesus Christ - when you insult the Catholic Church, He feels it in His person and says, “What are you doing to Me?”
