…because I haven’t posted much and I feel like a self-indulgent prima donna here, but…

Everything is a mess. My emotional health is crumbling. I emailed my therapist but she will be of no use signing papers to allow me intermittent time off work (she has to ask my psychiatrist, who is of the opinion that despite my bipolar diagnosis and my previous hospitalization, all I need is “a new job.” ).So there’s that.

And yeah, I *do *need a new job but at the moment that’s about #10 on the crisis list. Currently I have a manager I like and although I’m buried under paperwork, so is everyone else, so at least I don’t feel I’m going to get singled out!

My family life (I have only sisters and their husbands and kids) has fallen entirely apart. It’s been made quite clear how I do not belong with them. I know that we’d save each other from homelessness or disaster, but that’s about it. And that makes me sad, even as in a way it’s freeing.

And saving the most important for last, I feel like I have no faith whatsoever. OK, maybe a shred of faith. But my meltdown today with one of my sisters showed my lack of any kind of spiritual maturity, and how hard it is for me to be charitable in the face of rejection, and how envy still plays a large role in my life.

I realize these are first-world, non-life-threatening (well, except maybe the depression) situations, but they’re making me ill!

At the moment I can’t form a prayer to save my life, so of your charity I would humbly request a prayer from you…

Thanks,

Francesca

DEar Francesca, I pray for the anguish you feel to be relieved and that you find peace in your life. Surround yourself with beauty even if that is to look for the first Robins of spring that remind you of the world our Lord has provided. That you will find solace in the morning sun and the evening sunsets. The Lord is all around you. Let Him hold you while you focus on what you have to do to survive. He will be there at your side.

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

By Saint Ignatius of Loyola

You do not need to be sorry to ask, that is what God wants. He wants us to ask for help because when we do we show that we are in need of Him. That we ourselves can do nothing apart from Him in us through His Holy Spirit. You have faith, I can see that and remember it only takes the faith of a mustard seed…have you ever seen a mustard seed?!! It’s very, very tiny. Trust is the hardest part. Little by little release all each and everything to Him. Your sibblings, your job, your envy, your need to be more charitable…It will take time, so be patient but know that He is listening and cares deeply for your needs. Do not go by “feelings” which is hard.

I will be praying for you:gopray2:

Thank you for your kind and wise words and for the prayer. I love St. Ignatius.

That’s true! My Baptist mom had (and I may have, somewhere) a mustard seed encased in a glass ball about the size of a marble, to wear as a pendant, as a reminder of this!

Yeah, that’s true too! Sometimes it’s hard to soldier on through the feelings of despair and emotional, mental lethargy. And patience… ah yes!
I will be praying for you:gopray2:

Thank you. I really appreciate it.

The Rosary LEAPS to mind here,

Ask our Mother Mary to help you, to pray for you and with you, to HELP YOU to pray. She is very eager to do all this for you.
Plus, she is more CONNECTED than i ever dreamed !
Do it, …you’ll see ! 😉

You’re totally right. It’s also good because I can’t frame any coherent prayers myself at the moment, and it helps me focus. I have been praying the rosary the last few nights (I tend to be sporadic) and was planning on it tonight as well.

Yesterday during my lunchtime walk I listed to the Divine Mercy Chaplet on my iPod and that seems like it might be a good thing to do post-rosary, before I go to sleep.

Thanks for the suggestion! Good encouragement not to skip it and just to go bed. 🙂

Never apologize about asking for prayers. You are supposed to do this, in fact, the Lord ENCOURAGES this!
We, your brothers and sisters, are here for you and will pray for you.

My best advice to you would be to start with your Faith. Go back to God and deepen your faith and your trust in Him. There is a saying I’ve heard and I’m not sure who it’s quoted from, but it goes “You can accomplish more in 10 minutes with God than in a lifetime without Him”. It’s important to remember this, especially when life has us so stressed out and broken down. Sometimes it seems like we have too much on our plate to even glance up above, but in reality, if we’d only give some of our time to Him, we would see what a difference He makes in our lives!

I will be praying for you.

Grant unto us, Almighty God, in all time of sore distress, the comfort of the forgiveness of our sins. In time of darkness give us blessed hope, in time of sickness of body give us quiet courage; and when the heart is bowed down, and the soul is very heavy, and life is a burden, and pleasure a weariness, and the sun is too bright, and life too mirthful, then may that Spirit, the Spirit of the Comforter, come upon us, and after our darkness may there be the clear shining of the heavenly light; that so, being uplifted again by Thy mercy, we may pass on through this our mortal life with quiet courage, patient hope, and unshaken trust, hoping through Thy loving-kindness and tender mercy to be delivered from death into the large life of the eternal years. Hear us of Thy mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord – Amen.

praying with you Francesca. may you find Jesus who is the Light at the end of the tunnel…
May the Blessed Mother cover you with her mantle of love…

Francesca, there’s nothing surprising about an emotional meltdown (mini breakdown) when you feel under so much internal and external stress. It’s a natural human relation to emotional overload, so please don’t be so hard on yourself. And having such unhelpful naturally produced chemicals running through your system, consequent to the stress, you’re hardly likely to have any fuzzy warm feelings about God and faith. Altogether you sound very human to me. You’re not as bad as you think you are, by any stretch!

I just got a call. I’ll get back to you. Prayers. Love, Trishie

Jesus, our sister, francesca gen, is finding almost everything very difficult and painful, including her relationship with God. Please help and guide her in her very real difficulties. I ask You to ensure that she receives encouragement and help on every level that she needs help.

On her behalf, I pray

Holy Spirit, I need wisdom, discernment and unconditional love. Will You share Yours with me? Help me to persevere in these necessary virtues, even where there is wounding within me greater than anyone is aware. Help me to carry my daily responsibilities with faith and hope.

Help me to forgive those who have sinned terribly against me. Help me to overcome any unloving tendencies, such as envy and resentment. Help me to grow in appreciative love, of others, and of myself, as loved daughter of God.

Help me to find gentle ways for reconciliation where relationships are strained or damaged. If this is not possible immediately, please help me find the way, even if it takes time.

I need healing for injuries and scars that prevent me from fully becoming the person I am created to be. Come into my mind and soul, and help me through the rest of my life.

I need You, Holy Spirit. Please access the gifts and beauty of my unique creation in God’s image. For others’ benefit and for Your glory, give me a deep appreciation and use of the goodness, loveliness joy and blessing of this creation that You mean me to be.

“Pray for a strong spirit, the Spirit of God. And thank God often for yourself, for His gift to you.” Priest in Confession, Divine Mercy Sunday

Dearly Beloved Francesca,

You are Loved.
My prayer is that you be filled with Love of Our Lord Jesus.

Your will is perfect, Lord.

Let it be done in francesca gen’s life. Give the grace to surrender her desires so that she can be open to receive Your best for her life.

We ask, not to squander Your blessings on our own pleasure, but to find fulfillment in doing Your will.

Reveal Your plans for her, Lord, so that she may obtain the future full of hope that You have promised. Amen.

For you and your family in your time of need…

PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILY # 3
Heavenly Father,
you have given us the model of life
in the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to make our family another Nazareth
where love, peace and joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative,
intensely eucharistic,
revived with joy.

Help us to stay together in joy
and sorrow in family prayer.
Teach us to see Jesus in the members of our families,
especially in their distressing disguise.
May the eucharistic heart of Jesus
make our hearts humble like his
and help us to carry out our family duties
in a holy way.
May we love one another
as God loves each one of us,
more and more each day,
and forgive each other’s faults
as you forgive our sins.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to take whatever you give
and give whatever you take with a big smile.

Immaculate Heart of Mary,
cause of our joy, pray for us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

Holy Guardian Angels,
be always with us,
guide and protect us.

Amen.

(Author: Mother Teresa of Calcutta)

Francesca, may St. Padre Pio who labored under so much distress and St. Dymphna interecede for you.

Amen.

FrancescaI I just want to say don’t feel bad about asking for prayers. Remember Christ tells us we are all one body so when one member is having trouble the rest of us help. That’s why I became a prayer warrior.
Lord I humbly ask that you heal Francesca from all the strife she and her family are experiencing and Lord lead her to the right medical people so she can have the support she needs.
Amen
