Wow! My heart leaps with joy for you. I will have you in my prayers.

God bless you always

Praying for you that it goes better than you expect it to. God Bless You in your vocation. If one of my sons elected to be a priest I would be thrilled!

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
the Lord is with you,
Blessed are you among women
and Blessed is the Fruit of your womb,
JESUS,
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death
:AMEN:

I can’t even imagine my son becoming a priest or my daughter becoming a nun! The joy would be out of this world (well, the benefits would be anyway!:D)

God bless you chris…we are rooting for you in prayer!!

Here is a thread dedicated to just that…

**Perpetual Prayer for Priests / Seminarians / Vocations V. 67 **

Chris,

**you are truly a brave and courageous man, because almost everything in this world tells you to be selfish and ignore this calling!

You are in my prayers and God will use your talents and gifts for the good of many others!

I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and 3 beautiful children. If you become a Priest, you will have a universal family with thousands of children!
**
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Celtic1967 and Cominghome89-

guys, you are AMAZING! I’m praying for both of you.

I hope everything went well with telling the parents.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

From Brazil, I’m praying for U!
I have a 15 years old son, and would consider myself the happiest mom on earth if he decides to become a priest.
May the Virgin Mary bless and keep you!
:blessyou:

First I want to tell you that you and all priests, seminarians and those discerning a call to the priesthood are in my thoughts and prayers. Second of all, I have known since I was twelve that I’m going to be a nun, and just last month made the choice to apply to enter next year. As has been said already, there are going to be people who will make fun of you or who will try to talk you out of it but as I was praying today God said to me, “Betsy, I have given you the gift of being my bride. It doesn’t matter that you aren’t worthy of it, you have been given that gift and you need to trust both the gift and the giver.” If you have the call to the priesthood, then you need to have trust because it’s going to be scary and hard. It’s radically different and no one likes to be different but it’s a tremendous gift and if you have trust through it all, then it’s amazing and beautiful. Another thing to remember is that going to seminary doesn’t mean you are going to become a priest. If you do end up discerning that you do have a call to the priesthood, then God bless you and that’s an amazing calling but there is no shame in going to seminary and discerning that you don’t have a call to the priesthood. I feel like so often when a person tells people that they are discerning they assume that it’s a done deal. Sorry I kind of got off topic there, I hope and pray that your parents will come to understand and be supportive of you which ever way God leads you.

Totus tuus Maria!

Chris, I hwas given a hard time to go into the convent many moons ago…longer than the age that most are here on this thread. I went anyway, knowing full well I was doing god’s will. To become the Spouse of Christ is beyond any imaginings. I am not there anymore, due ot a long story and…but I still yearn for the life.

But, I have been married for 35 years this year. That being said, I still am called His Spouse (through prayer, etc and this being revealed to my spiritual director who I have had for at least 25 years). So, the beauty of Our Lord!

Chris, trust in Our Lady, she will take care of you.

(btw, when I told my mom that I was getting married, she reacted negatvely also but not as much as when I told her I was going in for a nun! Go figure…🤷)

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you! If I were a man I’d be a priest too for sure:D Lokking forward to hear how it’s going!

I hope celtic can post agian soon.

The suspense is killing me :compcoff::hypno:

Peace
James

That makes it unanimous! I am not very patient to begin with…and this wait is even harder because I am hopeful of such good things 😊

Another prayer - that Celtic was, indeed, able to talk to his parents; that their response was positive, and that their feelings on this will grow even more enthusiastic as time goes on and it really “sinks in” for them.

:signofcross:
Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women
And Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death, Amen

Ave Maria, gratia plena
Dominus tecum
Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
Et benedictus fructus ventris tui Jesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
Ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
Nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.
:signofcross:

May God continue to Bless you,
CLM

Hello everyone

I am SO SO SO sorry I did not reply earlier. My internet is down so I am posting this message from my local library.
I cannot thank everyone enough you have been so great to me and you have gave me so much support and courage. Really I cant put into words how thankful I am.

My parents are absolutly over the moon I dont think I have ever seen them so happy as when i told them. They actually said they always knew I would be a Priest and it was only a matter of time.
This is such a huge difference than if I had told my dad one year ago. My dad was a hardline athiest and decided to come to Rome with me out of curiosity. One week before we went to Rome I begged and pleaded with the Virgin Mary and Saint Peter to show him the truth in Christ.
I dont know if you know this ( so please PM me if you want details its called the Scavi tour) But when you visit the Vatican you can actually go 30ft underground and walk on the original 2000 year old Vatican hill and see the bones of Saint Peter. Lets just say my dad had a Religious experiece ( BIG TIME ) I wont go in to details because it will sound as if I am making it up plus its his own personal “Religious experience”.
His own words after the Scavi tour " I now belive in God actually i believe that Jesus is the son of God "
To get my dad back in the Catholic faith was such a grace because i know it would have torn us apart if he had disagreed with me ansering the call.
If anyone is interested it is the Religious Priesthood i feel called to enter. I am from Scotland but i feel called to travel to the United States I will be visiting in November

The Fathers of Mercy

Marians of the Immaculate Conception

IVE - The Institute of the Incarnate Word

Hopefully in the near future i will humbly start a blog if anyone would be interested. Even though I am only 21 I have quite a story to tell. Unfotunatly my past is more colourful than a rainbow anyone who would have heard i was considering to be a priest 2 years ago would have droped dead at the thought.
I believe this is the glory and the victory of God I cannot and I doubt I will ever unterstand why someone as unworthy as myself has been called by God. Jesus has truely stolen my soul.

Thankyou so much everyone. I am fighting back tears of joy

In Christ

Wonderful news!! I’m so happy it went well.

Please keep us posted about your blog, I’d love to hear your story.

Also, I was very moved to hear of the impact of the Scavi tour on your father. I just returned from Rome but unfortunately did not do the tour. My husband and I went to the catacombs however, and I hope that they made an impression on him. I will keep praying.

Greetings from Edinburgh 😛

That’s awesome! I’m glad it went well for you. I thought of this thread at Mass yesterday as our diocesan Vocations Director gave a special vocations homily. My wife wanted to sign our son up after Mass for the list of those considering the priesthood, but Father said that 8 months old was a little young to start the discernment process. 🙂
