God’s Plan was that Jesus Christ would come, work on this earth for three years, suffer, die and rise from the dead.

He left his Church in his place. He gave that Church a continued plan for the salvation of men. Seven sacraments, the Holy Spirit, and the Promise to be with it until the end of time.

God is Truth, and so is that institution He left with the truth, and the promise of freedom from error.

Do you want people to join your church? Is that what you are after? Or, do you want people to leave the Catholic Church?

No one ever said that if they disagree with Catholicism, they are disagreeing with God? You seem to find amusement in this and in everything else.

The Catholic Church never taught that “allah/buddha/krishna and Jesus are the same”. Please stop putting words in our mouths.

You misquote Jesus. He promised that the Holy Spirit will be with the Church until the end of time, that “it will never fail”.

Your post is just an attack on Catholicism. We do not look for insults written by any Catholic, but when they are insulting, like yours is, we are obliged to point that out. Yes, the Church has been commissioned to judge here on earth. “What you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed in heaven. What you bind on earth, will be bound in heaven”.

If you were sure of your 100% certainity of salvation, you would not be here. You are looking for reinforcement.

Just as Jesus said. At the end, God will separate the sheep from the goats, the chaff from the wheat. Those without a wedding garment will be cast out into the exterior darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

If sinners don’t repent of their sins, if they don’t belong to Christ’s Catholic Church, they are not going to be saved.

Where do you get the idea that Christ’s death, in itself, meant that everyone is saved. Have they shut down hell? Has the devil been laid off? Is Satan taken back into the ranks, and St. Michael and he are now good friends?

I don’t know where any of this comes from, and I would love to be enlightened.

Conatine a SUN worshiper started it. and then claimed himself Pope, which title did not come from the scriptures. Maybe the word Pope is in the Catholic Bible, but it is not in mine, and we do follow the scriptures, or do we?

Pope comes from the Italian, “Il Papa”, meaning The Father. All priests are referred to as “Father”, and the Pope is the leading Father, so he is called “Il Papa”.

As far as the Bible is concerned, "Christ said, “Thou are Peter, and upon this Rock (Peter), I will build my Church”.

As you are knowledgeable about the Bible, you will recall that God changed the name of someone, or gave a name, showing special mission, or authority. Abram’s name was changed by God to Abraham, and John the Baptist’s name was God-given.

You will remember that when his father said his name was to be John, the family complained, that they had no one in the family with that name. The choice of the name was God-given.

I haven’t been in these threads for a while, so I didn’t respond earlier but I am finding some people’s take on my response to this topic astounding, still I’m not surprised

Do you want people to join your church? Is that what you are after? Or, do you want people to leave the Catholic Church?

Neither. I answered the question asked in this post as I understand - if you have a problem with it that is your concern but why you have to seek an ulterior motive is beyond me

Jesus is the truth of the catholic faith … that is insulting … what can I say?
I honestly can’t see anything that I have said that should be insulting to catholics. The opinion I forwarded was that the truth of the church is Jesus Himself, when the church strays from that it strays from truth.

I was thinking about truth. There has been discussions’ here regarding what is true and where/how to find out whats really true. How does one decide what is true.

I’m wondering, if there have been any religious leaders who have claimed what Jesus said, when He said I am the way, the Truth, and the life.

He didn’t say He knew the truth, or was searching for the truth. Jesus said He is the Truth. This means, He is inseparable from the Truth. All Truth is from Him, they are one and the same.

Who else can make this claim?

Anyone. Doesn’t Jesus also call out to God to ask Him to sanctify the people with His Truth?

Greetings…I am truth. At least you have made yourself known that you are. History from the Catholics and History from the other faiths are different as night and day. Catholics claim Peter was in Rome, put to death by Nero. Christians claim that the Bible makes no claim that Peter ever went to Rome, and that there is no prof that he set anyone apart or gave the Authority or the keys to anyone. Now isn’t that the way history is, since you and I where there watching all this, we would probably write our own history and I am sure we would write the truth. You see when you are dealing with scripture and history it’s different, History 2000 years ago, Its hard to know who’s telling the LIE. And how can you prove it. Your going by what you have been told to believe and what you have read. The history in school are changing because they are discovering that what history was 400 years ago is being discovered to be faults. LET"S REWRITE HISTORY. History is only one man’s opinion, but it sure sells and blinds the public. Look at Darwin, what a joke, but how many believed it. My friend Peter was not a Pope and had nothing to do with the Catholics, and that is History you can count on, because I wrote it.
