Hi everyone! I believe that I experienced a personal Eucharistic miracle this morning at Mass. I was receiving the Eucharist and when I put the Eucharist in my mouth, it tasted just like flesh! It continued to taste like this as I chewed it up and the taste remained with me for quite some time even after I had swallowed Jesus. It was really quite amazing!

See, I had been having doubts about Catholicism and even God in general for the past few days. And I experienced some involuntary doubts about the Eucharist just before receiving. But then this happened! Immediately after receiving the Eucharist, I didn’t think much of it but then very quickly afterwards I realized that it had tasted just like flesh! I was amazed!

Wow. What an amazing experience I had this morning!

I’m curious. How do you know it tasted like flesh? What kind of flesh?

It don’t really know that it tasted like flesh. It just kind of tasted like what I imagine that flesh would taste like.

Holly, I believe the Lord revealed Himself to you in His flesh. He knew your heart and your struggles. Thus, you have received what may be viewed a s a private revelation. It was Christ, Himself, assuring you that His words are trustworthy and that you may release all doubt and trust only in Him. Blessed are you!

So, you’re done with giving any more thought to those doubts now, right? 😉

Awesome story - thanks for sharing!

Actually, I’m having some pretty intense doubts right now. I don’t know what to believe anymore. 😦

Can’t get much more obvious than what you received today. You are spending a Holy Hour before Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, right? You are missing spending time with Christ in the Flesh! Go, and spend an hour with Him. You will be changed.

Christ’s peace.

I can’t. My soon to be ex-brother-in-law is staying here tonight (I’m taking care of him because he has been very suicidal lately and I didn’t feel it was safe for him to stay by his self). Him and my sister are separated right now and he is very suicidal because my sister won’t take him back. So I agreed to let him stay the night here. I’ll be up all night on the computer and he can sleep in my bed.

No cop outs, or I’m going to begin thinking you’re scamming us! Most parishes have Adoration once per week, and some go 24 hours, while the really blessed are perpetual. Call around. You want to spend time with Christ, don’t you? It is the best kept secret in all of Christianity.

He has captivated my heart. I can no longer resist Him.

Christ’s peace.

What I am saying is that I cannot go tonight! And I am definitely not scamming you. I find it deeply offensive that you feel that I am scamming you.

I thought that you meant I should go to adoration right now but I simply cannot do that tonight.

Read my post again! Absolutely no offense offered or intended. I most certainly didn’t think you would drop everything and run there tonight. I didn’t know when you said you couldn’t go, that you meant this evening. Sorry for how it came off. But, Christ is calling you.

May His peace always be with you.

My impression was that - as when someone pricks your finger on something, like a rose bush - the tendency is to shake it and then put it in your mouth momentarily. That may have well be the way she realized what the taste was, since the blood - as from a finger prick - has a very distinct taste.

Perhaps what Holly is saying… is that the Eucharist tasted different to her than It usually does… and that her perception was a taste of “flesh”. (Holly, please correct me… if I’ve misunderstood).

The result of her experience is an increase in her faith. How greatly Our Lord loves you, Holly. Thank you for sharing. God bless. 🙂

** I was receiving the Eucharist and when I put the Eucharist in my mouth, it tasted just like flesh!**

**The substance of the Body and Blood of Christ exist under the accidents of bread and wine. When the accidents don’t exist, the substance does not, either.

One of these accidents is taste.

Draw your own conclusions as to what really might have happened.

I am sorry I misinterpreted your post and sorry for being rude to you. Please forgive me.

Do you have any official Catholic source that states that when the accidents don’t exist that the substance does not either? I ask because if that is the case, what about the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano?

Also, I told my priest what happened and he said that several such cases also happened in the Middle Ages and that is what prompted the Church to prohibit chewing of the Eucharist for a time.

Also, I don’t know if the Host really turned into Flesh in my mouth or what (I honestly doubt that it did because I am certainly not worthy of such a miracle) but I do believe that God caused it to taste like Flesh for a reason and that that reason might have been to increase my faith.

Whether or not I experienced an actual miracle, I do not know. All I know is that what happened did increase my faith.

I can’t speak for it - only God knows.
But do you know what today is? Corpus Christi. The Feast of the Body of Christ. Another thread has it listed as The Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.
God bless you.

Yes, I knew that today was Corpus Christi but thanks for reminding me anyway. 🙂 And God bless you too! 🙂

Very interesting. With my luck, were a miracle to happen, I’d get a “Jesus hairball” 😃
