The gospel quotes are from John, written at least 80 years after the time of Jesus, maybe later. John is characterized as being so *young *
when he was a disciple, so as to lend credibility to the notion that he wrote this late gospel. There is no evidence that John wrote it–it would be nice if he had* said so*…“I, John, son of (…), who traveled with Jesus, write these events which myself have witnessed…” etc.
Where you looking for Johns signature to his gospel? John 21:24
**It is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, 14 and we know that his testimony is true. **25
There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.
If you hold to scholary work to be your Truth, then your Truth is limited to dust, which remains confined to the tangible to identify in what your Truth rests upon. Christianity surpersedes the confinement of the four walls of the material world which disappears to dust. Christian Faith takes off where man lacks to his confinement of the material world. The problem I see here, is that you appear to rest your truth on man and not God, because you reject God’s revealed Truth in return for a scholary work that is debatable? These letters were copied and distributed throughout the underground Catholic Church to be used in her Liturgies. The Letters were secondary, because the living apostles were handing the Christian faith Orally as the Apostles preached and taught by both Oral and by Letter. Faith came and comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God, not reading the Word of God. The Faith was already in practice and being taught before the Letters went out to new Christian communities.
It is now well known that by the time this gospel was written, Christianity had become a gentile religion, and was tainted by other gentile religions, including Greek and Egyptian sources, in which man-gods were everywhere. Similarly Paul, once Saul, was a well-educated Jew who was a* citizen of Rome,*
I don’t know who has misinformed you, or what source can you give to confirm that the Church Jesus built upon Peter was tainted by other gentile religions? Can you back up this false claim with your scholary Truth faith? Paul was a zealot Pharisee Jew who converted when he fell into the presence of God, that he gave up his persecution of the Church. Paul went to the Jews first, who stoned him and tried to kill him, then to the Gentiles. You are hard pressed to believe that Paul a converted zealot Jew recognized any Roman or Greek god’s. Its not clear to me what you are trying to discredit here. But if your going to make outlandish false accusations please back them up with some sources, aside from this, your personal opinions are duly noted, and do not meet scholary standards of proof.
Reveal to me from this biblical history that the Catholic Church was tainted with paganology and I will reveal to you a “liar” from this history. Please don’t confuse the enemies of the Church such as heretics, heresies, and excommunicated apostates as in line with the Catholic faith. Please recall that both Pagan Rome and the Jews persecuted the Church.
Peace be with you
