I can’t find evidence of anti-communism in the Bible?

I am saying that after listening to a lot of persons ,very good people, very mindful and caring, there has been this sorrow if you will, that devoting more time(and prayer for us) to walk the walk ,they would have discovered a treasure that was there and available.
I do not know you,Curious,so as to assert that.
But it a recurrent thought that without trying to seriously undertake the journey of learning about our own faith,we have sometimes got stranded along pathways and a bit off the main road.
That is all,you know,we kind of think aloud sometimes,we “Spanish”,don t we?
All good…Todo bien…

When the term was created is irrelevant, the concept precedes the term, just like how we call self-portrait photographs from the 1920s “selfies”, even though the term obviously did not exist back then

That’s just one narrow definition of communism, and one with which not even Marx agreed with

The actual history of communism provides a huge mountain of evidence that at least in practice, it is clearly and firmly opposed to the moral code that is taught in the Bible, particularly in the New Testament. If you have doubts about that, then please read something about the history of communism, such “The Crisis of Christendom” by Warren Carroll (starting with the section covering the communist revolution in Russia).

I’m sorry, but no. Communism has a very specific definition. You don’t get to just make up some other definition and then admonish everyone else for sticking with the accepted definition.

So long as you insist to misappropriating the word “communism” everyone will continue to advise you that communism and Christianity do not mix.

I think it would clear things up to look at the entry of communism in the dictionary.

“Communism, political and economic doctrine that aims to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and communal control of at least the major means of production (e.g., mines, mills, and factories) and the natural resources of a society. Communism is thus a form of socialism—a higher and more advanced form, according to its advocates.”

How is that opposed to Christianity?

The problem with that definition is that it attempts to sterilize the “how” question. As Card. Ratzinger pointed out, an essential feature of Marx’s concept is that the theory cannot be separated from the practice ie the class struggle and the subsequent imposing of the communist system by force.

That is what Communism is. Communist societies have murdered in the region of 100 million people this century. Communism views individual human lives as being subservient to the state, therefore if it suits the purposes of the state to murder millions of its own citizens, that is in keeping with Communist ‘morality’ as individuals have no real worth in themselves and their existence is to serve the purposes of the state.

Catholics need to rely on the word of the Church bout faith. Not politics.

There are a whole lot of things the Bible does not address. and the point is…?

I remember the communism heroization of Pavlik Morozov, a child who handed over to the authorities of their parents. Pavlik Morozov was to be an example for all children.
That is, it turns out that schoolchildren and students had to hate and report to the authorities about the political, social and religious dissent of their parents.
The perverse use of" hate your father and mother", but not for the Kingdom of Heaven but for the Kingdom of earthly equality.
By the way , experience shows that where communism ruled, it is often difficult for a person to realize his freedom and be creative and efficient.
Countries of former communism often have the same effects as with the ex-colonial Arab and African-American societies. It is hard for a person to take responsibility, to think for himself, to realize his freedom.

Or rather I should have said Communism has resulted in the murder of in the region of 100 million people this century. Individuals living in a Communist society are not collectively responsible for the acts of those who sign the orders or those who carry them out.

True communism practically requires atheism. There are very few true believers who are Communist.

All a Catholic (or any other devout Christian) has to do is study the teachings and writings of Karl Marx to realize it is not compatible with orthodox Christianity.

That’s not true. There are Christian Marxists. They’re just not atheists

Sure, there are heretics everywhere.

However, please point one out who is an orthodox Christian.

BTW - please re-read my first two sentences.

I acknowledged that some so-called Christian Marxists exist. But it’s still isn’t compatible with orthodox Christianity.

Well I disagree. I don’t think there’s anything in the Bible that opposes communism per se.
