No chance of that…And uh…one more thing. If I were in charge of your office you would get called on the carpet. You are there to work, not have theological debates.

I found out from hearing the young fellow speak with others that the teaching in question (the title of this thread) is pretty much the summation of the doctrine at his “church” . I am starting to use that term in regards to his church with reservation.Asking this young man if it is possible to speak with his pastor is a very strong measure. Of course done respectively, can be equally effective. If not a positive outcome, a definite knowledge of the grave problem this group of believers are under.
Interesting phrase…
That is what I am going to try once we get to meet after work for a beer. It will now have to wait a week or maybe two … I had to jump him for business reasons yesterday. He is now a bit shy of me. We need to let that dissipate 1st.
… I would give him a handful of Scriptures which condemn a Once Saved, Always Saved heresy.
I still contend, like most guys his age, he only responds to one organ on his body.I found out from hearing the young fellow speak with others that the teaching in question (the title of this thread) is pretty much the summation of the doctrine at his “church” . Glad to hear that.No chance of that![]()
We (you & I & other others that think correctly about the subject) know that jhargus. Some of the ones that do not hold to the True Church teach all you have to do is believe in Jesus & all is well. I could quote some Bible passages that debunk this, but all Catholics know those passages anyway.… One can be saved by repentance no one can be saved without repentance.
If is was anybody it would be him. Here are the facts:No chance of that![]()
Right. Try to rely on a love for him.If is was anybody it would be him. Here are the facts:
He walks into MY shared office. Shared with another Catholic who thinks exactly the same way as I do, he is just a bit weak when it comes to speaking out.
He brags about the plans he has for a weekend of debauchery. (Keep in mind he talks a lot about his involvement at his “Bible” church.)
I did not want to hear it & the Bible clearly teaches we are to admonish people like this. After he made his comments & I asked my question/made statement - he followed with his “I can do anything I want” statement. I let him know it was time to leave as my partner & I had work to do.
He is the one that would have been called to the carpet for being overtly offensive. I do not want to hear about someone’s drunken & sexual plans. I was offended. I did not report him. But I do plan on talking to him. His “church” is not teaching proper Christianity.
I did not know better when I was 30 but then I was raised atheist.Maybe, but he should at 22 know better. Course that comes from an old guy!
I have been following this thread since the beginning and have read each post. Somehow, and I am hoping I am wrong, I get the uncomfortable feeling there may be more happening than what is being presented at face value. If is was anybody it would be him. Here are the facts:

I will try to do this in order… I am feeling you have a genuine concern for j this young man’s spiritual welfare. … desire to point out that Protestant churches are in general really all bad, wrong and twisted. … if you even realize it…wonder if this young man is just saying stuff to turn your crank and get you going? … My advice is to lay off this guy and his church and simply tell him you have decided to not dialogue any further with him on religious subjects and that you are praying for him. …
I am hoping I have not been offensive here. Just wondering if there is more here than what meets the eye…
I agree with your first sentence whole heartedly. Not that I was ever that wayI still contend, like most guys his age, he only responds to one organ on his body.
Even antinomian churches do not have ‘you can do anything you want’ as part of their doctrinal or philosophical statement.
Well yes, the fellow is young. All the more reason I have to not just let this go. Without proper instruction kids go awry. I do not know if you saw my post earlier when I mentioned that i would have to hold off readressing this for awhile due to a ligament business “chewing out” I had to give him. Luckily that has been quickly solved, and the confrontation may have opened up an avenue to approach him later on the more important issue.I did not know better when I was 30 but then I was raised atheist.
