excuse me? we bow down to a pope because he is the vessel of Jesus Christ, he speaks through the pope. and it’s just outo f repsect, that man is still a man, but is the man that god has chosen to lead his people, the Catholics.
i’ve not been a catholic all my life i grew up in the Baptist faith and i hated it, no real family in that church, but when we movedt oa different city and joined the Catholic church, i felt completed, and there hasn’t been a peice of my heart missing since.

Hi lizs,I have been a Mormon all my life and to this day I can’t believe you all are other religions! If you read the Book of Mormon you would truly see it is true. I don’t know why you all choose to read anti materials and listen to EXMormons.
I feel bad for those who have lost the true gospel but there is always time to come back. I have been reading posts for about 6 months and have decided to join. I have always been interested in the whole Idea people are Catholic because they seemed a bit messed up. I mean you bow down to a Pope. So very sad.

May I suggest that the reason you can’t believe I am not a Mormon is because you have " been a Mormon your whole life "
( that being a rather common Mormon statement )
If you are willing to seek " truth " and not seek familiarity or what offers us " broken people " the most appetizing and desirable choice, then I believe your journey here will indeed allow you to gain a very different perspective then the one you currently have been born into.
By the way ( for what it worth ) the BOM, you so proudly speak of, is itself contradictory to what Mormons’ teach, believe, and profess to be true.

The jury is still out as to whether the original poster is a mormon. Most mormons would not close with the sentence about bowing down to the pope. It seems that this OP may just be a catholic out to slander mormons. Lets see if the OP returns, if not, we can all safely assume that the OP is a catholic wishing to bash the lds church by baiting follow catholics on this forum.

I did return and I am not a troll. I don’t believe Catholics have the truth. Personally if you all read Moroni chater 10 verses 3-5 and pray with a contrite heart you will know the BOM is true
you must have faith in Jesus christ also and pray sincerily wanting to know and be prepared to act on the answer. I personally believe you all have never done that otherwise you would see truth in the book of Mormon.
as for the honey bees and such- you must have faith. Jesus never makes a lie. Her sent Joseph Smith to build his church again.

the catholic church is the church that was started by Jesus Christ himself, it hasn’t been changed, it is what John made it, and John was appointed by God as the first POPE, we have noly carried on our traditions, the Mormons have altered what Jesus started, you really need to read the Bible, it was written through Gods divine intercetion. what can you say to that?

B’luved, I accept your sincerity. But sincerity (while absolutely essential to integrity of personal faith) is barely a doormat to the whole picture.
But then, Mormonism has the whole situation sewn up because y’all believe that the Great Apostasy began BEFORE the close of the New Testament age. The ONLY way to accept the Mormon positions on the nature of God and the Person of Jesus Christ (which is a completely different concept for you than for Christians) is to believe that Christ, who promised to be WITH his Church “to the end of the age,” changed His mind and left us all n the lurch. For Christians, that is simply an untenable position. Either Christ IS the eternal God, creator of the universe, only begotten Son of the Father, or He isn’t Christ at all.

Jesus built His Church Himself. It persists in the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches, all of which have unbroken Apostolic succession back to the twelve Apostles, and have maintained their doctrines, unchanging, from that time.
Mormonism denies the True Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Do some more studying, not just Mormon sources.

I did this and now I know for certain that the BOM is totally false. It confirms that Joseph Smith was a fraud and he is leading millions of people astray. We should all pray that the LDS will soften their hearts, listen to God’s true Word, and leave the apostacy which is the LDS.

I don’t want to gang up on you here, but I have to comment on some of these. I’ve heard this before - about reading those verses and praying with a contrite heart. The same could be said for any other religious text in the world. It just doesn’t hold water.
And you have no idea personally that such is true. You don’t know anyone here on this forum, yet you claim to be omniscient.
Faith must also be coupled with reason. God gave us intelligent minds. He expects us to use them.
That’s fine, but watching movies isn’t going to solve all the problems in the BoM. I have a copy. There’s just enough error mixed with truth to make it the religion that it is - very popular. The clincher for me was that Oliver Cowdery left the faith.
He was one of the few men to be close to Joseph and saw the things he did, yet he left the faith. If he would have REALLY heard and seen the things he did, he would not leave it. He supposedly was there when Jesus and Peter appeared to Joseph. It just doesn’t make sense.
