Jesus was either blaspheming or was making Himself equal with God by being God. No man could claim to be equal with God unless He truly was God on this earth. So I must ask you how you reconcile these two passages:

Psalm 75:7 but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.

John 5:22 The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son

We are the image of angels too, since angels are in the image of God
Do you have scripture that proves this? God also created animals, plants, minerals, etc. We don’t look like them. 🤷

  1. John 5:19
The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son does also.
  2. Mark 10:18
Why do you call me good? No one is good, except God alone.
  3. John 14:28
The Father is greater than I.
  4. Matthew 27:46
My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

So your answer is that you don’t have an answer?

There is no place but he has made them.
I agree that He made them, but this is the first time that I have ever heard anyone say that they were created in the image and likeness of God. Usually when someone makes such a big claim, they can back it up. 🤷

  1. Matthew 27:46
My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Ooh, ooh, I know this one! I direct you toward Psalm 22. It begins with this verse.

So in Jesus’ time, people studied the Torah much more than we study the Bible today. They would actually have had entire passages memorized (I say passages because they did not have verses or chapters until the 1200s). So the Jews at the Crucifixion would have recognized “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani” as Jesus suggesting the entire Psalm, not just that single verse.

Compare:
Psalm 22:7-8 v Matthew 27:39-40– Jesus was mocked
Psalm 22:14 v John 19:34– They pierced his side and water flowed out
Psalm 22:18 v Matthew 27:35– They divided his garments and cast lots
Psalm 22:16 v the very idea of a crucifixion– They pierced his hands and feet

And if you read through the entire Psalm, it winds up happy-ish. It’s actually much more joyful than it initially lets on. The Psalm begins with a lament about the horrible things happening, but ends with praising God and praying for deliverance.

I would like to give you Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s explanation of the Trinity, which is how they explained it to us in RCIA.

Let’s look at water, your basic H2O. We know water can exist in three forms, either as a liquid, solid, or a gas. These forms are water, ice, and water vapor. Each is completely different, yet all are water. We see that each are essentially H2O.

The Trinity is the same thing. God exists in three different forms, or Persons, but each Person of the Trinity is of the same divine essence, and each is God, whole and entire. As Jesus said, “Do you not believe I am the Father, and the Father is in me?” (Jhn. 14:10) Though they are distinct Persons, each is the Great “I AM.”

We see the Trinity in Jesus’ baptism; Jesus is there as the Son, the Holy Spirit descends upon Him in the form of a dove, and the Father speaks from the heavens. The Trinity has always existed. God sent the Spirit who spoke through the prophets, and the prophets spoke of the Son, who was destined to be sent as the Messiah.

Hope this helps a bit. I’m not very good at explanations. :o

No I do not have answers to them. But you have answers to the verses I came with? I doubt it.
Yes, I do have answers for them. If someone else wants to explain for me I would appreciate it, as I am out but on my phone right now.

What worries me though, is that you don’t have an answer to my question and then you pose some questions that have been interpreted correctly for 2000 years. Someone else can interpret them or I will when I get home.

Both of these issues are common here at CAF. Your lack of belief in the Trinity is a fundamental error that you need to study more in depth to correct. The following links should help with that.
With regard to the Blessed Virgin Mary, these links should help you get a better and more Biblical understanding of who she is and what her function is.

John 1:1
IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

These verses prove the divinity of Jesus (and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us).

5. John 5:19
The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son does also.

So the Son does what the Father does, so if the Father sends the Holy Spirit, then the Son also sends the Holy Spirit. If the Father creates, then the Son also creates. So, they are doing it as ONE. Hmm… kind of like the Trinity.

6. Mark 10:18
Why do you call me good? No one is good, except God alone.

Here, Jesus is testifying to their belief that he is God. Because if Jesus is good, and no one is good but God, then Jesus is God.

7. John 14:28
The Father is greater than I.

Yes, because are not fathers greater than their sons? The Father begets, the Son is begotten, so in a sense, the Father is greater than the Son, but that does not mean that they can’t also be the same.

9. Matthew 27:46
My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

This is a reference to Psalm 22. Also, since Jesus was both man and God, the Father is also his God, along with the Holy Spirit.

How do you take the verses:

John 10:30
The Father and I are one.

How could they be one?

John 8:58
Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.

How could Jesus say, before Abraham was, I am, when that is the name God uses in the Old Testament? So, Jesus was either blaspheming, or he is God.

And St. Patrick’s famous analogue: :shamrock2:

Angels are creatures God created, they did not create our universe, only God did. God the Only Begotten Son, the Word of God who became flesh and dwelt among us.

From the Gospel of John Chapter 1:

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. [4]** In him was life, and the life was the light of men**. [5] And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

[6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. [7] This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. [8] He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light. [9] That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. [10]** He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.**

[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, he gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name. [13] Who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. [15] John beareth witness of him, and crieth out, saying: This was he of whom I spoke: He that shall come after me, is preferred before me: because he was before me.

[16] And of his fulness we all have received, and grace for grace. [17] For the law was given by Moses; grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. [18] No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

This clearly indicates two Persons of the Trinity. God the Father, and God the Only Begotten Son (the Word made flesh) Jesus Christ. It also clearly states that the Word was the Creator, and not angels. And Jesus Himself told His disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit in the Book of the Acts of the Apostles:

[1] The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began to do and to teach, [2] Until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up. [3] To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion, by many proofs, for forty days appearing to them, and speaking of the kingdom of God. [4] And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth. [5] For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.

There it is in a nutshell: the Trinity.👍
