I don't think I can do this

I’m going to say this in all charity:

Begin to say YES…stop saying “no”.

Perhaps that’s why people seem to not care to you. You have an answer for everything, yet you seek answers.

We may not have the answer for you, in truth.
The answer you seek is with God.

So go and ask Him.
Go to the nearest Catholic Church and kneel and ask God.

Say yes to Him, at least.

Still praying.
Not giving up.
Determined to pray you into self -forgiveness and light.
May you feel peace this night.
I actually don’t have the answers for everything. I have reached out for help, with no help.

I actually don’t have the answers for everything. I have reached out for help, with no help.
Please keep reaching, but never for the murderous knife.
Extract from the book My Broken Christ Walks Over the Waters:
My Broken Christ Walks Over the Waters - loveandmercy.org/Eng-MBC-Reg.pdf

Ladies, you who promote abortion or abortions that seek to snatch from the Author and Lord of life His legitimate and sole rights… you who under the slogan that “a woman has the right to decide about her own body”, are concealing the “right” to kill, which will never be a right…

To you I say; please think seriously about what you are doing and get on your knees, pleading for God’s forgiveness and turning your lives around radically, because what awaits you on the other side is so horrible that you cannot even imagine. I say this because the pain you will suffer during your entire lives does not even amount to a thousand part of the pain that you will inflict on your own children while pulling then out of your wombs; and because the pain of a child during the most terrible of abortions will not amount to even a millionth of the eternal suffering to which you are being condemned by your own blindness. My mission on this journey through the earth is only one, to take as many souls as I can to Jesus.

Therefore, as a woman that I am, I am dedicating a few lines to you without the least intention of confronting you with ideas or arguments and without the least intention of hurting any of you. To the contrary, I only want to plead with you to reconsider what you are doing and stop your mad race towards the abyss and that of all those other naïve women whom you “generously help to get out of a problem”. I do not know how much a word of mine, so poor and sinful, can do to reach your hearts. Nor do I know which of you would be reached by these words of mine, but I do not worry about it because I know that the Lord will take care of that… What I do not want is that a sin of omission may befall me the day I find myself before the Throne of God to be judged.

Do not go launching campaigns to destroy the most marvelous thing that the Creator has made with His hands. Contemplate yourselves for five straight minutes in front of a mirror, and think of how much love He must have felt when you were being formed in the wombs of your mothers. So much so that He gave you a soul and intelligence, even if you cannot see one or the other. He gave you strength, courage, health and, perhaps, beauty… Think of how He has formed your hands finger by finger, all perfectly done. And He did it in the hope that you would take in them a rosary, a cross, a flower, a book, a sewing or any other productive tool… But never a murderous knife!

[Ladies] Please wake up! Look towards the light and flee from the darkness! May the blood of the innocent ones, which runs like a river, not wake you up in the middle of the night to drown you in nightmares… Friend, come down from your own altar. Please look; look in front of you. Jesus is on the opposite shore, stretching out His hand for you to take a leap and grab hold of it tightly. Please do not fear, and forgive those who may have hurt you so much… All of us make mistakes, and not just once but thousands of times, yet what is big and wonderful, what is courageous, is to acknowledge them and turn back from the mistaken road in order to take the correct one. Clarity will never come from the hand of those who murder! Flee from them! For even if they convince you of the contrary with their alleged help, they are only going to destroy you.
Thank you for reading
Josh

“That’s the other thing. I don’t want to bring anther baby while on aid. I feel it’s irresponsible of me. Like we can’t afford the children we make.”

Here’s the thing. You say you have no support system and nobody cares about you. If that is true, why is it important to you what people think about you? It’s one thing to care about the good opinion of those who care about you, but it makes no sense at all to value the opinion of those who don’t. Conversely, if people care about you, they will help you if they can.

So, two options:
  1. Nobody cares about you, so it doesn’t matter what they think about you having a large family on food stamps and Medicaid.
  2. Somebody cares about you, and they’ll help you if they can.
Win-win.

Make the phone calls. You can make a dozen tomorrow. Make sure and have a short explanation of your needs: pregnant with 4 children, having trouble coping, short on cash, etc. Put your heart into it, do the follow ups when they give additional phone numbers, and see what happens. Spend a day doing this and you will make progress. If the kids are an obstacle, seek help from our friends Mr. TV and Mr. Computer.

You haven’t always been so overwhelmed, so it stands to reason that you won’t always be overwhelmed. Likewise, you haven’t always been broke, so it stands to reason you won’t always be broke.

For the long term, I have to note that you have made on major omission in your career as a mother–you have not woven yourself a support network. I understand, as it took me YEARS (and lots of false starts) to weave an adequate support network. I am thousands of miles from any family at all. It’s taken me a while to realize that making a support network for my family is one of my major responsibilities–it’s right up there with fresh diapers, regular meals and clean clothes. But now that I’ve got it, over a decade into my career as a SAHM, we have people to pick up kids from school in emergencies, pick me up if our car dies, get a ride to the grocery, watch our kids while I’m in the hospital having a baby, help me unpack my kitchen after a move, you name it. There are also unexpected bonuses–the random bags of hand-me-down clothes in the right size, used books, etc. Just this afternoon, a friend who’d been shopping at a Trader Joe’s out of town brought me some fancy Spanish cheese out of the blue. And how did I get all this? By being a friend, by being a neighbor, by serving others with what I have, and especially by being friendly and helpful to newcomers. I’m not saying this is easy, but it is very much worthwhile and it’s not a frill–it’s one of the basic necessities of life.

You poor beggar. You just want the world to stop spinning for a while. Lost and can’t find your way out of the constant chaos. All alone because your husband has disengaged. I’d sure like to get him on here!
There’s only one thing you need to know about Christ…he loves you. You need to forget trying to live up to a Catholic benchmark that is just impossible for you at this time.

NFP is for those who can. It will drive a wedge between you both, if you are both not ready for it. It will destroy intimacy with the fear of a pregnancy. In tough times…sex and intimacy is the only things that you can enjoy for free…that draws you toward each other rather than have you running hard in the opposite direction.

You also need to let go of the guilt from the 1st abortion…as tragic as this was. A Priest told me of a story to demonstrate the power of forgiveness which I shall share with you. He spoke in general terms…of a mother who had had an abortion and was at the point where it was invading her every thought. In effect…she was losing it. She went to confession and broke down as this great weight was finally laid before a forgiving Christ. The Priest forgave her and lead her out before the blessed sacrament and asked her to rest in the real presence of Christ…he asked that she wait awhile before leaving, to actually experience and feel the power of forgiveness, that only a loving Christ can give. She wept openly before the blessed sacrament.

Your earlier post suggested that a nursing career is in your future plans? Good for you. You have a plan for the future. YOUR future. 👍

Now we need to help stop the world from spinning long enough for you to re group. You will find that person…and know it when you do…by ringing the care centers that others have suggested. Then YOU will have to rally your troops…including the one you carry, attached by an umbilical cord. This child listens to your heart beat. It feels your pain and shares it with you. Its heart beat will calm your own. You are connected. Rally those troops and with all the strength that Jesus used to carry that cross…take the future that you and your family deserves. Take the help and take your family and your future by the scruff of the neck. God wants more for you then you could possibly imagine. ALL of you!

Its only in the face of true adversity, do we witness the birth of our greatest hero’s. Be that hero for your children.

This was also an area that I seriously fell down on and I can actually see the great deficiency that it has caused in my childrens life now that they are in their 20’s. It’s one of the real necessities of the modern day family’s wellbeing.

Biological families are so distant and sometimes so fragmented. Even now that my kids are adults, I worry that if I and my husband die, they will have their friends, but there won’t be that generational network that can be of real support for them as they go through their lives. I do wish that I’d taken the opportunity to build this type of strong structure around us, because I actually did have that opportunity when the kids were young and so many of us were in the same boat together. In thinking of why I didn’t take that opportunity I can only lament my pride and martyr complex I think. I felt that doing it alone made me a good mother. It was a huge mistake to think that way and I regret it.

Oh! You have called the priest at the local parish? What did he say?
You have called Rachel’s Vineyard?
What did they say?

A very dear friend of mine is Catholic and she has been supportive in ways I can’t even describe.
Is this friend still available to you? If so, are there any resources at her parish that she can put you in touch with, such as moms’ groups, The Gabriel Project, or the parish priest?

Still praying for you.

"When we are out and they want something and I say no, total meltdown from my 4 year old. my 7 year old will question why, and have a million phrases to say back and challenge me. Then for the remainder of the “shopping trip she will have a pouty face crying.”

When my big kids were littler, we instituted the idea of a “special item” that each child was entitled to at the grocery store…if and only if their behavior was good for the whole grocery store visit. The special item could be up to $3 in value (although if I like the item, I might be flexible). If the kids had their own funds available, I would chip in $3 and they would chip in the rest. (For a while, we had Hot Wheels for 50 cents or a dollar, which was very affordable–my oldest still has a huge collection of them.)

Now that my big kids are so big, store behavior is no longer a problem, but they are still entitled to one “special item” of their choice at the store, and only one. I take their (name removed by moderator)ut with regard to other stuff (it’s really helpful with regard to making sure we have food they’ll eat), but they only get to choose that one extra item each.

Of course, I have to add that there were quite a few years where I would NEVER have taken two kids into the store by myself for any major shopping.

A while back, my daughter chose a pack of marzipan as her special item and paid the extra cost (it’s expensive stuff). When she got it, I had no idea what she was ever going to do with a pack of marzipan. Today, it was her brother’s birthday and she dyed the marzipan green and molded a Minecraft cake topper out of the marzipan for the birthday cake.
When we went to the store, the kid who was the quietest got to pick the cereal and the ice cream flavor. We found this very motivating.

That is brilliant.

Here is the list of the MOPS groups within 100 miles of Philadelphia. If none of these are close to you, you can refine the search with your zip code.
OK. YOU didn’t make this baby. God did.
God will provide.
When are you going to trust God?
He’s keeping the planets and the moon and the sun in the sky.
I think he can handle your child.

If you know the horrors of abortion, then you should cancel the appointment.
NOW.

Just lit your candle. It will burn for 7 days for your intentions.
It has been lit for your mental health, (peace of mind) your marriage, your children, and their little brother or sister.

Life is not one big monetary commitment, although society tells us it is.
There is a bigger issue at hand.
What is it to gain treasures here and lose our very lives in the next life?
Think hard about this.
What prayers are you praying?
These are the posts you need to read. Ignore the ones that make you feel bad. Do not respond to people that are not speaking in positive ways, you do not need to answer them.

You have received many positive responses with good information in them.

Please, cancel your appointment and call someone in the morning. Trust us that there are people out there that will help you. If you don’t call, you will never know. You have nothing to lose by calling and everything to gain!

Please, it doesn’t matter if you are officially Catholic, they will help you. If you went to pianistclare’s parish, they would take you right in and they would help you. But it doesn’t matter what parish you go to-- any of them will help you.

Add me to the people that won’t give up on you. I will pray for you daily as well. Please keep on touch with us.

Here’s another piece of advice that I don’t think has been thought of earlier.

It’s possible your big kids have some behavioral issues. Make an appointment with their pediatrician and with their school to have them evaluated. It may be that an ADHD prescription for one or more of your big kids would change your whole world.

And see if your OB/GYN thinks you need something, too, and if it’s possible to take it safely during pregnancy. Tell your OB your mental health history and exactly how you feel.

Medication for the kids may not be a long-term solution (and I realize it’s highly controversial), but you don’t need a long-term solution—you just need to buy time. If it bought you one or two good years, that would be good enough.

TSB4,

Stop. Think of your 4 children you have, they are in the other room, right? Imagine one of them not being here, can you imagine never knowing them? Can you imagine tomorrow losing them to an accident, or something terrible? I’m sure you love them, and they love you, right? You seem to only see the negative side of having this baby, but please, see another side you haven’t thought of… Imagine this baby, you think you can not live with it, but what if you could? IMAGINE the potential of this child… could he/she be a doctor, a machinist, a future wife/husband to someone? Don’t end it for this child, let it begin! This is a 5th child… not 19! And if that truly is so difficult, BEG your husband for adoption, beg for this child’s life!

YOU CAN DO THIS!! Have hope, don’t go to your appointment Friday!

TSB4,

Seems kinda strange to ask God for prayers for TSB4, but I know that He knows you by name. I pray for you tonight and for baby Francis (felt the need to use a name for your baby and Francis popped into my head). May you sleep in the comfort of the arms of Jesus.

I have witnessed unexpected babies save their parents’ and other family member’s lives. They were in different, unexpected ways. Some are obvious. Doesn’t everyone know of a single parent that got it together, quit the partying, and became more responsible after the birth of a baby? I know of babies that are giving their older brothers and sisters reasons to live.

Maybe God sent this baby as an answer to your prayers. I don’t know how, because it seems like all they do is “take”. But they actually give, too. You won’t know until it happens, and if you abort the baby, you might be throwing away the help you are needing and wanting so badly. Yes, the baby will change your family, but it won’t be for the worse.
