I know the feeling, but don’t get angry at God for it. It is what it is. Your status of single or not shouldn’t really affect this btw, because you shouldn’t be having sex till marriage either way. In the end, the best you can do is your best.
Also, porn is the result of human failing, and not designed by God.
If you fail, go to confession and try again. Trying saying the rosary each day, it’s done wonders for me in that regard.

Remember that porn is intrinsically evil. Most of the women involved were abused as children and have some sort of drug addiction. Pornography objectifies women. Remember that they, like you, are children of God regardless if they turn their back on Him.
Temptation can surround us but it is up to us to embrace it. Stop watching illicit movies and TV shows and you will find it easier to say no. If your friends chastise you remember we are called to “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.”

God gives your life for a meaning. Don’t ruin it with emptiness. Recall the story in Luke 19:13-27 (today is his feast day, what a coincidence).
Think about what can make your life meaningful and stuffed, running, music, read Scripture and more; and make sure you do them.
Keep yourself outside and in public. Assume you are always under the watching of God and His people.
Put a crucifix or Pope’s photo frame at home, where you can see when you are tempted to do bad things.
Remember Christ’s Commandments. Always remind yourself that the punishment of grave disobedience is Hell.
Read Pope John Paul II’s book “Theology of the Body”.
Learn how to really love and respect others.

But I must say that it’s easier to learn to say no to sinful sex than to food, because you have to eat to stay alive. I have lost over 70 pounds in the last few years by trying to learn to say no. I have not yet lost any cravings–I think about food all the time.

I’m not a man, but maybe it would help if you thought about someone else objectifying your mom, sister, future wife, or daughter in the way that one does when looking at porn. Well, the girl you are looking at is someones daughter, probably someone’s sister, possibly someone’s mom, and could someday be someone’s wife. And despite appearances, she is also God’s beloved daughter. Not trying to lay a guilt trip or anything, but if you put it in that perspective, it might help to keep you in reality if you begin justifying that sort of behavior.

I think that we need recognize though too that the OP is not only talking about porn, but “temptation”. In our society today even turning on the TV will bring temptation from suggestive commercials to even worse shows…Billboards, radio, magazines…even just fashions on the street can be temptation to a person who is struggling.
Cat related the problem to dieting. Well - have you ever been on a diet and watched TV? The number of food commercials is staggering.
For the person who is struggling with purity, it isn’t any better…
That said…I think Cat nailed it by relating the matter to dieting. You can never get completely away from your body - your cravings and desires or from temptation. You have to learn discipline…you have to learn to say no…and say no a lot.

Those strong urges are supposed to drive you to look for a wife. Previous generations married much younger. There wasn’t birth control, and young ladies were heavily chaparoned. Men, after 6th grade learned a trade & established themselves, so they could support a family. Not just a wife, a family. Within one year of marriage there would be a first baby on the way. Also our ancestors labored hard every day, and fell into bed exhausted at night. That, along with a conservative culture, supported marriage. Teens carried adult responsibility and were encouraged be self supporting at an early age.
Unfortunately with the expectation of finishing college before marraige, you are working against the natural maturation of the body. Also our culture keeps teens in an adolescent phase years too long which engenders nothing, but frustration, and failure, and a sense of entitlement.
Sexual self control is the door to happiness. Those most sexually active outside of marriage have the highest depression, and suicide rates. That life style will render you incapable of a commited marriage. Catholics who practice the teachings of the Church such as Natural Family Planning, have a less than a 3% divorce rate, and the happiest sex lives! God made us, and therefore understands best how we need to live to be successful.
To resist the temptation of lust, you practices the opposite virtue, modesty of mind & body. I stongly suggest you read Theology of the body!

Porn and masturbation are more addicting than some of the world’s most powerful narcotics like Cocaine and Heroin.
If you start “doing it” you are going to end up like a Heroin addict. It will destroy you.

Deal with it the same way everyone else does–use some self control and don’t put yourself in a place that is any more tempting than need be. Porn and temptation is everywhere at college?

thanks guys. huh i’m just real frustrated cuz i’m working all the time in class and out of class with papers and projects ( i’m actually fine with that). but it sucks being surrounded by lots of beautiful women at the same time and yet i don’t know anyone of them cuz of being in soriorities…its like being stranded out at sea but can’t drink the water cuz it will kill you.
i came to an epiphany that BY all means i would not have time for a girlfriend this semester at least so thats somewhat a relief

I mean this out of love not judgement so please don’t take this the wrong way. Perhaps the first step is to change your attitude towards God. As much as I think it is great to be honest with God, your statement appears to show a hidden anger against God. Trust me, he is **not **putting you through this with a big smile on His face. He actually weeps everytime you are tempted. Try thanking Him for showing you it is wrong and a better way instead of resenting Him
