I woke up not too long ago with this overall feeling dread, condemnation, and damnation…

I don’t know what caused it, or frankly, what to do to make it go away.

I prayed the Rosary, and that seems to have helped a bit…

But I still feel like this diabolical, horrible person headed straight for Hell…

Praying a rosary for you, and could you speak with your priest about this?

But I still feel like this diabolical, horrible person headed straight for Hell…
Pray this every day:

*Prayer to Obtain the Grace of Boundless Confidence *
“My sweetest Jesus, God infinitely merciful, Most tender Father of souls, especially of the
weakest, the most miserable, the most infirm, whom Thou bearest with singular tenderness in Thy divine Arms, I come to beg of Thee through the love and the merits of Thy Sacred Heart, the grace to confide in Thee, the grace to confide more and more in Thy merciful goodness, the grace to repose securely for time and eternity in Thy divine and loving Arms.” (Dictated by Our Lord to Sr. Benigna Consolata)

The kingdom of God is within you. COME UNTO ME ALL YOU WHO ARE HEAVY LADEN. TAKE MY YOLK UPON YOU. FOR MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.
God is not the Father of confusion but a Father of a sound mind.
As you read scriptures, write down verses that strengthen yòu.

Hi zeldarocks

Check out what St Faustina says about Divine Mercy. Jesus is infinitely and unfathomabley merciful to ALL who call on His mercy. Why not go to confession and make a general full confession, go to Mass and then pray the rosary. Wear a blessed Miraculous Medal and a scapular. Then be at peace and trust in Jesus.👍

It might be a “wake up call” to open your heart to a grace of conversion that God is wanting to give you. I took a moment to look at your previous posts to get some context. I’m glad I did because otherwise I’d be barking up the wrong tree here. It has to be difficult in your situation and I don’t know from first hand experience exactly how that would be.

The closest I can come in my own life is that at one time I was a naive college girl dating a guy who led me into sin and I had the intuition that things were not as they should be yet I was hooked on the emotional and physical levels. It was complicated and my mind was all muddled. I was basically just going round in circles. So I needed a way out but couldn’t find it on my own. The addiction was too strong. Then finally, to my mortification, I was busted by my parents. Was it painful, humiliating, and confusing? Yes, yes, and yes. But in the end it turned out to be a blessing because it forced me to confront the issue head on and choose to get right with God, or continue down the other path. There was a clarity that hadn’t been there before.

After seriously considering both options I opted for God, humbled myself and went to Confession, and broke off the relationship. And for a time, had a healing process to go through. That was not easy, and presented its own struggles. I had to get through some depression and I developed scrupulosity - but I’m sure that would have happened at some point, events just brought it to a head. And I found an awesome confessor who helped me through it and I discovered the mercy of God.

So it was all sunshine and unicorns after that. Not! 😉 Life is never that easy, and there have been many other challenges over the years. But at least I knew that I wanted to live chastely in a world full of temptations. Purity went from an abstract concept to a part of how I lived my Faith and gave me a foundation for dealing with future tests. Sometimes I failed again in different ways. Sometimes I went down in flames, messed up so badly it took years or even decades to get past the damage. But I had the solid foundation to come back to, to build on with each new bit of wisdom gained by learning from my mistakes and studying Scripture and returning to the Sacrament of Reconciliation when needed.

We’re all a work in progress. If we keep our hearts and minds open to God’s grace, His still small voice constantly calling us to conversion, we will make it, one day, one moment at a time. Doing the right thing will not be pain free but it will be easier in the sense that we know that is the direction we have chosen. Sometimes we will have to go on blind faith. That’s okay too. We’ll still get to where we need to be. May God help you with the journey, and be assured of my prayers.

Don’t go by your emotions ZR, that’s a typical n-C syndrome. Our standing before God is not based on our emotions…how we feel…but upon the promises of God and His love and mercy expressed through the New Testament and the wonderful ministry of the church.

Make a good examination of conscience and see if you’ve got a reason to be concerned and go to confession as needed, then perhaps spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament.

Remember what J.R.R. Tolkien said:
Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament…There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves upon earth, and more than that: Death: by the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man’s heart desires.
You are in my prayers. :gopray2:

Go to confession and talk it over with the priest.

Confession is a sacrament which is designed to forgive all sin and to give specific help to sinners. There is something quite different going on in confession … Jesus listens and forgives and gives us his special blessing.

Stay close to him by making a regular confession once a week for a while until you either find out what it is, or it goes away, or the confessor says otherwise.

Dear Blessed,
This is positive affirmation. With all the prayers said for you you should have grown white, angelic wings. Giggle. That negative feeling you, previously, had, has to be gone.
We, occassionally, feel Iike Jesus left us. It is called " the dark night of the soul". One feels bereft when we feel the absence of the Lord. He hasn’t gone but our spirit can’t feel the presence. That’s when you Rev up the Bible reading and rosaries.
Song:I BELIEVE IN THE SUN, EVEN WHEN IT ISN’T SHINING. I BELIEVE IN LOVE, EVEN WHEN THERE’S NO ONE THERE. AND I BELIEVE IN GOD, I BELIEVE IN GOD EVEN WHEN HE IS SILENT.
IF YOU COULD GIVE US AN UPDATE I’D APPRECIATE IT. Don’t watch scary and demonic movies. Subscribe to Purflix. It’s all faith based movies. I have it on my phone and I pad. I think I can get an aux wire to go to tv. Stay in the light.
I LOVE YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE.

You are being taught to combine faith with works. This is a false gospel - these feelings of condemnation are something you really need to examine, dont shut them off with rituals.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.” The Bible literally says you are not saved by works. Word for word. Deny this, and you must reject scripture. You are going to have to choose between the “holy church” and scripture itself.

Works can provide evidence for the existence of faith as shown in James, but they cannot save, and Jesus spent quite a lot of time condemning the Pharisees for teaching otherwise. Have you ever lied? Ever cheated? Ever cursed? Even once? This is enough for eternal damnation, period. No amount of “good” rituals can erase this.

The Pharisees and the Saduccees were the religious, pios, holy leaders of the day. Watch out for them. Jesus warns
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” Matthew 23:13

Jesus Christ - Not Mary - is perfect and divine, the “Son of Man” prophesied, God in flesh, who came and lived a perfect life - and then died on the cross, for our sins. On the third day, He rose again, the “firstborn from the dead.” The question we must ask ourselves is, is He, the very Son of God, enough?

If you determine that His work is not sufficient, you can keep praying the rosary and going through rituals, but you will be condemned.

If He is enough for your forgiveness, trust Him alone, and you will be forgiven because of His perfect work, not yours. Be like the tax collector, not the Pharisee, in Luke 18

"9 To some who trusted in their own righteousness and viewed others with contempt, He also told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the other men—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I receive.’

13 But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

You can pray to God in thanks for the evidence that you are still of value. Then go to a quiet spot in the woods or similar place and do an examination of conscience. If that reveals some issues with your friendship with Him, then go to confession.

When things are going OK with me, I do a ‘Oh-oh’ and then go to my checkoff list. 😃
