I think you’re being too hard on yourself. I was just reading in Mother Angelica’s “Answers not Promises” about some times when she found herself getting frustrated. We are all called to be saints, but we’re human and we will never be perfect!

A priest once told me “I love my weaknesses, it’s a true test of humility”.

Where is the merit in praying only when we feel calm and tranquil?

Mr Sock, while your frustration might not have been Godly there are so many other things you can be doing that are so much worse my friend,

Robert, I dropped a punnet of blueberries today and I felt like punching a hole through the wall! 🙂 (After a stressful day, this kind of thing can be particularly trying)

St. Francis de Sales struggled with anger for about 12 years. There is no shame in admitting our frustrations and attachments; we can only become detached by seeking God in all things.

I know that not everybody will agree with this, but I find relief and forgiveness from annoyances and frustration by smoking just a little medical marijuana. Pot does not directly affect my anxiety, I need Xanax for that, but pot reduces the frustrations that often leads to anxiety. Pot does hinder my short-term memory, which scares me, but the almost instant escape from frustrations and annoyances are well worth it to me. I guess it could be Satan tricking me into a snare, but it could also God or the Saints in Heaven guiding me in love.

An acquaintance of mine once stated that the problem with this life is that it kicks back (I should have turned him on, and said, “yes indeed”.

But there is nothing like prayer. I often lay flat on my bed, close my eyes, delete all worldly thoughts and images from my mind, and worship God in Contemplative Prayer. I need more discipline!

Thanks for all the kind words.
