So, in a previous post, I introduced myself and shared a little of my life’s journey. In short, I am returning to Catholism after a long time away.
I have taken steps to set my spiritual life in order. I have met with the parish priest. I’m already very fond of him, even before meeting him personally. SO we had the initial meeting. I’ve been in contact with him since. Is it a sad thing that the only personal email I have is communications between myself and my priest? Strange thing. It is a very efficient way to get questions answered, it was his suggestion as he gave me his card. In our meeting, he said we could to reconciliation then, but he didn’t want to put me on the spot and he wanted me to reflect first. Not sure if I had the deer in the headlight look for him to say that, but I was grateful for a little time. This was Tuesday.
So, I decided last night that this morning was the day. I was up at 7, got all the church mission donations ready to bring when I went to confession that is 9-11. Got there, dropped the donations, think I over did it by all the looks I got…lol, lots of personal care items and such too. But I have been putting it together for awhile, just hadn’t made it there yet…anyway
So I went out and parked, went in… I couldn’t find the confessionals!
I feel like a fool! I knew where they were back home, but not here. There was a service going on as well. I don’t recall there being an overlap in the bulletin. SO…
it didn’t happen!!! I looked from every angle, went down the corridor, I looked for 15 or so minutes. I couldn’t find it!
Leave it to me to get confused and lost. Before I lost my nerve, since I haven’t been to confession since prior to my confirmation, I emailed Fr. and asked to schedule an appt. Then he can walk me through the WHOLE process, including…WHERE IT IS.
