Don’t eat cereal but wanted to congratulate you and your wife on 27 years of marriage - hard enough to achieve these days let alone differences in how to eat, ummm, drink, aaahh, okay consume your cereal.

Split ticket.
I’m with space ghost*. The wife is with the wife.

(* When I eat cereal. I’m really more of a pop-tart/doughnut/cinnamon roll/bagel/whatever-breakfast-bread man)

(I was beginning to think it was a chick thing until I read contemplative’s [post=675986]post[/post])

My dh almost never has cereal because he doesn’t like milk, BUT my oldest son loves plain cereal with no milk at all and my dad likes Grape Nuts (YUK!) microwaved till warm and “sponge-ish” (dad’s wording) with evaporated filled milk (you know Milnot milk in a can?)

I have to leave the room when either of them eat cereal - dry mouth and nausea at the same time!

I, on the other hand, like LOTS of milk and use a small salad bowl for containment purposes.

Too much milk tempts me to gluttony since I tend to add more cereal when I have left over milk. If the bowl has more cereal than milk, I sometimes add even more milk. On my worst “pig out” days, I ended up eating 3-4 bowls worth that way.

The easy answer would be to drink the left over milk in the first place. I tried offering it to my cat, but he does not like it that much.

Flood! I love milk! If i wanted my cereal to be dry I’d eat from the box, what’s the point of damp cereal?.

Grape Nuts, LOTS of milk (Grape Nuts don’t get soggy), and frozen blueberries so the milk gets slushy and you have to break apart the blueberry chunks with the spoon. I remember my Grandma on my Dad’s site always eating Special K topped with Serutan and Tang.
Yummy! I eat blueberries like that a lot. Pour just a little sugar on them, then a little half and half, so it starts to freeze. It’s like eating blueberry ice cream!

I’m a flooder, cereal wise. I use soy milk, not cow’s–nothing like a little chocolate soy milk in the morning!

just about every morning for breakfast - take cereal in bowl, add craisins or cut fruit… add 1 cup (about, whatever quantity works…) homemade or commercial vanilla yogurt. instad of milk… yogurt is awesome.

OR, and my wife thinks this is disgusting, but take a hearty cereal like Optimum and add ORANGE JUICE. I tried it years ago one day when i ran out of milk… delicious… OJ and cornflakes…YUMMMMMMM

Tons of milk helps the dry, brittle, woody, tasteless, good for you so you can poop in the morning, cereal go down.

Well, now I’m on the south beach diet and only eat eggs or plain yogurt for breakfast, but in the good old days when I ate cereal -
The milk must reach exactly halfway to the top of the cereal. This allows all of the cereal to be moist but still crunchy, and prevents the leftover milk (which is a near occasion of gluttony for me, too). Normal people must achieve the perfect 2:1 cereal:milk ratio!

Bacon! Eggs! Sausage!!:yup:

I no longer eat cereal because it contains too many refined carbs and sugar:( , but when I used to eat granola, I would put half and half 😃 on it – just a little to moisten it and add a bit of flavor. The other thing I would do is add a bit of plain or vanilla yogurt. Yummy!! :clapping:

Soggy is no good.:crying:

But now it is MEAT. Give me MEAT!! :dancing:

I have a cousin that is allergic to milk so he always used Coke~A~Cola. eeeewwww.

I like even amount of milk and flakes.

Cereal for breakfast: It must be hot cereal, & I eat it with butter, salt, & pepper. No sugar. And certainly no milk!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. space ghost on your 27th anniversary! :tiphat:

As for the cereal question: I only eat cereal late at night and I put just enough milk on it to cover the top of the cereal but not over the top. 😃

Happy Anniversary!

Here’s the perfect way - dunk your cereal flake by flake or O by O in your milk. The question then being, “How long do you leave it in your milk? My husband says dunk & remove immediately. I say take it out just right before it falls apart.”

SG uses M**K?
eeeeew.

Come, sit on my virtual couch. I want to ask you about the breastfeeding thread you were caught on.

Have you been reading books on the banned list by Siggie F?

How are your teeth 😉 ?

Congratulations on 27 Years.

Half a bowl of cereal (Honey Nut Cheereos), with only half as much milk. I like to run out of cereal and milk about the same time.

Ollie Cat likes the left-over milk, but he can’t have any. When he drinks it, he promptly ralphs his morning Meow Mix all over the carpet.

A family member of mine use orange juice instead of milk on his cereal and another use coffee. :bigyikes:

I love coffee, but not on my cereal. I drown my cereal with milk and sometimes I use yoghurt.

Who needs milk when there’s vodka?

Okay, not seriously. I flood the stuff with milk and have occasionally caused neightbors to wonder about flood damage. I had to assure them that insurance would pay for it.

My perfect bowl of cereal needs to end with leftover milk to drink.

However, I don’t like soggy cereal.
I eat it very fast 😃
Probably looks like I’m starving.
