Praying for you, rpp. I hope everything went well and you will have a good recovery!

Thats a lot to go through. Prayers for all to be well…peace be with you.

Thank you all for the prayers. I am finally logging on to check a few messages. Thank you, as well, to those who PM’ed me, Your prayers were greatly appreciated.

And they were efficacious.

After looking around, the doctor determined that the cartilage has not significantly deteriorated, which is what we had feared. To smooth out my knee, he induced controlled fractures of my knee in three places to bring undifferentiated cells to the surface to fill in the holes.

So I am on crutches for several weeks but I will, with some additional prayers, be able to resume activities I have not been able to for many years. 🙂

Thank you all!

I am offering prayers of thanksgiving.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful news … This calls for prayers of thanksgiving indeed. 🙂

Well, I have had some complications. It seems I have developed contact dermatitis in the area around the incisions. My skin is “weeping” that weird fluid when you have an allergic reaction (yellowish-clear). The odd thing is that I reacted to the cotton bandages on the wounds themselves. In fact, I cannot keep any bandages on the incision site at all.

Also, I tried to go back to work on Friday, but the doctor, and his entire staff, took turns scolding me for doing that. (I am a computer software developer so I work at a desk.) I need to keep my leg elevated and that is just too hard to do when sitting in front of a computer. Which is also why I have hardly logged on here for a week.

The rash covers my entire knee, it is larger that what I can cover with both hands. It has improved in the last 24 hours but it is incredibly itchy.

I do not really have any allergies so this is a big surprise.

Anyway, I now have a pretty serious risk of infection as I cannot cover the wounds and I am still bleeding from the incisions and the rash is still weeping. In fact, when I saw to doctor on Friday afternoon, they told me it was more likely than not that I may get an infection. I asked for some antibiotics and he gave me a shot as well as some benedril and some kind of anti-rash cream.

No amount of cleaning the rash seems to improve it. I have another doctor’s appointment tomorrow so we will see what is going on.

I was warned that an infection could rapidly put both my life and leg in jeopardy as the incisions go right into the center of my knee joint.

Please pray that I do not develop an infection and that the rash dissipates soon.

I’m sad and concerned to find you with such news. I guess your system is compromised by all you’ve been through with this already and that may be why you’re having this reaction. Please God you will find whatever it takes in treatment and nurture that will get you through this safely to recover. You will have mine and our continuing prayers. My best wishes, Trishie

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Dear God please guide the surgeon’s hands on rpp’s knee and let the surgery go so well that he doesn’t ever need anther one,if it is Thy Holy Will.

Okay, the drama is over. The rash is subsiding and the risk of infection has pretty much passed.

Now it is just 5 to 7 more weeks on crutches and I should be fine. 🙂

Thank you all for your prayers.

I am glad the rash is better, and I’m sure you are, too! 🙂 I hope you continue to get better, too.

You will be in my prayers for your complete healing.

*Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen
