I do not really understand your question.

Although not the main point of your post, we do not have a child on the way. I have 1 from my first marriage (annulled) and fiance and I have a 1 year old together. We’ve talked about how we feel married, and we have the level of commitment–things always must be worked out, keeping our family together is important, etc etc but we do not consider ourselves actually married, regardless of our feelings and commitment…

OK then. You are not married yet. I was thinking, what’s the difference it makes if you are married already (there’s difference of course, but for the sake of simplicity. Silly me.) If you are married, and if the priest agrees, all is needed is a blessing/convalidation for your marriage.

As it is now, then like most posters said, you have to wait for the marriage to be performed. In the meanwhile, since you are not married yet, any sexual act would be considered fornication, and thus a sin.
