I have been studying and pondering all the different Keys mentioned in the Bible, who holds them and how this all fits together.

You are confusing the **one interpretation **with the **many applications **and combining christian cults with all Christians.

As i hhave said the interpretation has to jive with the Gospel- all other scripture:

Galatians 1
8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

Have you ever been to a Bible study group? Have you been to one with many of he different trinitarian Christians?

Can a human let you into the Kingdom if you have not followed the ways of salvation set forth in the Holy Bible?

Can any human deny access to the Kingdom if you have fulfilled all the requirements needed for salvation?
Did Christ say, and I will give to all who believe in me the keys to the kingdom of heaven? No, He was specifically speaking to Peter, in the presence of other Apostles. This was not spoken to ‘multitudes’. Then He added, AND whatsoever thou bound on earth will be bound in heaven AND whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. The authority is more than represented, especially when read in light of other scriptures.

It doesn’t combine anything. There was one Church. There was one teaching by all the authors of scriptures.

It’s an easy read. It takes really creative minds to make this fit thier theology and if it gets too tough, they can always change it to mean something else. 🤷.

The REPLY in part]
Matthew 16: 19 I [Jesus] will give you [Peter SINGULAR] the keys [PLURAL] of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you [SINGULAR] bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you[SINGULAR meaning Peter and His Church] loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
“I will”- Jesus has not yet given the disciples the Keys. And there are 2 things being spoken of here the Keys of Heaven and the binding and loosing of “whatever”.
I find it interesting that the binding and loosing is of whatever- not whoever?
There must be 2 disciples in agreement for the binding and loosing to work
***How these conclusions are reached in beyond my understanding?

A BIT of TRUTH and proper understanding goes a long way:thumbsup:***

***We must began by recogonizing who was speaking [Jesus] and to whom He was speaking. Directly to Simon Peter and the other Apostles, AND deciples who were listening and acting as witness.

THEN one must ask what was the ethnic mix? THEY WERE ALL JEWS AS IS JESUS HIMSELF.

NEXT what did Jesus say and do? [Keep in mind this is a perfect all knowing God speaking.]
[15]* He [Jesus] said to them, [ALL] “But who do you say that I am?”
**[16] **Simon Peter replied, “***You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” *** [IT is Peter aone who replies that “you are GOD!”
**[17] And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18] And I [Jesus] tell you [SINGULAR], you are Peter, and on this rock [foundation = ME Jesus!]I will build my church, [SINGULAR!]and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.

Next one must access what the message is and its specific intent?"**

Indispuitably Jesus 1. Just founded a new religion [SINGULAR] Church [SINGULAR] a placed Peter in charge of it.

SO DID THE APOSTLES and deciples understand what just happened?

OBVIOUSLY YES! "**Eph. 2:19 **“So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, [singular] built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; [singular] in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”

Going back to define specific terms:

Keys to “the kingdom of heaven.” 1. First by using plural “keys” not " "key"we are aware that according to God thre are more than one action required for salvation. Nevertheless, ALL OF THE KEYS are given to Peter and His new Church. [Examples the 10 Commandments, Baptism, Confession of sins.]

***Why did Christ use these words, this imagery? ***

***Kowing who was speaking and to whom He was speaking Christ carefully choose terms that could NOT be misunderstood by those to whom He was speaking.

Even today Jerusalem is a walled in “fortified city” with actual gates and keys. This was the norm for major cites of the erea. Each such kingdom had a seperate king who had one person “the keeper of the keys,” often called the “Prime Minister” who with the “power of the keys” was given total anonomous control to make and inforce laws as he, the [PM] handled all day to day operations and decisions, made and enforced laws of governance, and answered ONLY to the King Himself.***

The terms “bind” and “loose” were so common as to be inforceable in Jewish courts of Law, and were clearly understood BY ALL as power of complete atonomous governance of "the kingdom."

***It was not until PENTECOST when Christ Institued the Sacrament of Confession, that a second meaning also understood by all was added to these terms: “Bind and loose.”

*****John.20 Verses 20 to 23 **"When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23] If you [SINGULAR MY Bishops nd priest] forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

No where does the bible talk about “two” being necessary to bind or loose.
I find it interesting that the binding and loosing is of whatever- not whoever? [/QOTE]
The reason for this is that Jesus gives COMPLETE and total authority for Governance of His new [SINGULAR] Church, which LOGICALLY MUST INCLUDE not just making laws BUT also being able to enforce them as did the role model Prime Ministrs." So THINGS and PEOPLE fall under this authority given by Christ to Peter.
I can also support the primacy of Peter Biblically.
Love and prayers,
Pat This ought to end the wild speculation going on? BUT WILL IT:shrug:

The geographic order in which they were to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God is significant. The apostles were commanded not to depart from Jerusalem at first (Acts 1:4).
Code:
   1) Peter, during the feast of Pentecost in Jerusalem of Judea preached the gospel of the Kingdom to the Jews that had come to celebrate the feast of Pentecost and (Acts 2) and over 5000 Jews converted (Acts 4:4). THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF PETER'S USE OF THE KEYS AND OPENING THE DOOR OF THE KINGDOM TO THE JEWS.

 2) Again Peter, after that Philip the evangelist preached in Samaria, is summoned upon to go accompanied by the Apostle John to Samaria (Acts 8:12-25) when many of the Samaritans believed and converted, and were baptized.Pete r was called upon to pray for them who had believed so that they would receive the Holy Ghost upon the imposition of the Apostle's hand. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE APOSTLE PETER OPENING THE DOOR OF THE KINGDOM TO THE SAMARITANS.

 3) Finally Peter, in Acts 10, is called to the house of Cornelius, a Gentile and Roman centurion, to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God and while he is doing so (v.42-47) Cornelius and his house filled with faith believed and the Holy Spirit fell on them who heard the word of the gospel Peter preached having converted as well. Check the verses out for it is very moving I believe. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE APOSTLE PETER OPENING THE DOOR OF THE KINGDOM, THIS TIME TO THE GENTILES. Now the whole of humanity, Jew-Samaritan-Gentiles had the doors opened to enter the Kingdom that Jesus came preaching, so that no one is left out without opportunity to be saved.
This is long and is how I understand the Keys given to Peter to open the doors of the Kingdom to the human race after the triumph at Calvary of Messiah for the sins of the whole world.
This makes so much sense to me:

Now the whole of humanity, Jew-Samaritan-Gentiles had the doors opened to enter the Kingdom that Jesus came preaching, so that **no one is left out without opportunity to be saved. **

It is actually all so simple and straight forward.

Luke 11
9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened
