I posted a prayer thread about my mother (she has melanoma), but I think I need prayers too.

I have such terrible anxiety and am so scared for her. It’s literally all I ever think about. I keep thinking of the worst case scenarios. What if she can’t handle the interferon? What if she can’t work? How will we support them? I woke up again this morning shaking with fear.

I don’t know what to do.

Thank you for listening.

Sounds like a terribly difficult time, praying for you and your mom. May God give you both strength through this.

Praying for you, your mom, and family:

Our Father,
Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou
among women,
and blessed is the
Fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.

Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I am praying for you and mom. I am a widow and sometimes I suffer from anxiety during difficult times especially under stress. Keep us posted.

Thank you so much! I have moments when after I have been in prayer that I feel confident and calm. But then the fear and doubt returns; particularly in the morning.

Turn it over to God…pray for understanding of his will for you and the courage to carry it out. Place your Mom completely in His care and ask only that by her suffering others may be brought to love and truth by the care they render to her.

Denise,

Don’t be afraid-I know what your going through and I know the paralysing fear when facing the unknown. My melanoma was diagnosed 6yrs ago [4.8mm] and I had no treatment, interferon was mentioned but the oncologist thought there would be too many side effects so for me it was “just wait and see” I do have pet scans and by the grace of God I am still here. My family stormed heaven and my mother had just about the whole world praying for me. The Divine Mercy was a very powerful image for me at the time and still takes my breath away when I see it, I was given so many prayer cards I used to get a bit confused who to pray to. The word “TRUST” is very connected to this image and now I place my whole life in Gods hands and trust in his endless mercy! I will pray for your Dear mother and pray for her healing!

:bible1:
Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for **
I am thy God:**
I will **strengthen **thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee
with the right hand of my righteousness.
- Isaiah 41:10

+I pray that** God’s** sweetest blessings of healing and encouragement may be your mother’s and your’s at this time . . . while yet a child I learned a precious consistent lesson at my dear Mother’s knee during times of difficulty . . . which helpful lesson re practicing our Faith in** God** was to search out a portion of Sacred Scripture . . . the Word of God . . . approaching life from God’s point of view in such circumstances/problems . . . *rather than mine *. . . and to embrace and prayer:gopray2:fully read, memorize and take this portion . . . and other like-portions . . . of the written Bread of Life to heart . . . as a precious promise entrusted to us to be claimed from our Heavenly Father for the heart’s need . . . the above beautiful passage came to mind this morning as I prayerfully considered your post . . .

Denise, when I first went to Pgh, I was given a folder w/ all kinds of info about counseling and different types of help. There might be someone there to help you and your mom with questions you have about work, etc. There are social workers employed by the hospitals that might be able to help as well.

I’ve been praying for you. Christ’s peace be with you.

I am praying a Novena that is offered especially during Advent, in memory of Saint Andrew, in which a special petition is included. May I pray it here and throughout this day on your behalf and for you Mom.

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment
in which the Son of God was born
of the most pure Virgin Mary,
at midnight, in Bethlemen, in piercing cold.
In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayer
and grant my petition through the merits
of Our Savior Jesus Christ and of His Blessed Mother. Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Thank you all so much! I cannot tell you how much this means to me! I truly don’t have the words to express my gratitude.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I woke up again shaking. I’m so afraid. Please pray that I can put my mother in God’s hands and trust in him.

Praying right now that you can relax in the peace of Our Lord, that you have the courage to prayerfully release your concerns into the gracious and loving hands of our Savior. Lord, please give our sister the peace that can only come from You. Please hear our prayer! Amen.
