Denise, I really do know what you are going through, my father, Manuel was dx with terminal(stage 4) esophogeal cancer on October 21, 2011. You have posted on his prayer thread, thank you…What you feel is normal!!! I am reading a book by a healing priest, Fr. Peter Rookey called “Man of Miracles” by Heather Parsons here is a quote from that book, “…but you know the way it is when somebody you love is seriously ill. It’s so difficult to keep your mind focused on anything, because it continually strays back to the ill person.” Our prayers will help you, but at times fear will creep in this is normal. For me I think it helps to remember that no matter what the outcome(I am not ready to say God’s will be done if that means my father will not be here on earth), God will prepare us for it and get us through it.
May Our Blessed Mother Mary wrap her mantle around you(and me) and comfort us in this difficult time.
** Holy Mother** Mary, St. Anthony, St. Jude, St. Peregrine please intercede for a miracle. Thank you.
A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty”, the “The Wonder Worker” because of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in their need. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being. You turned to God when the power of human beings could do no more, and you were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His cross to heal your affliction. I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:
Denise’s mother
Aided by your powerful intercession, I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.
Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
Prayer for a Miracle
St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for his creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I ask you to obtain for me the favors that I seek a miracle healing from cancer for my friend Denise’s mother. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.
O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was full of sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus, who loved to be held in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever by yours. Amen.
**Prayer to the Infant Jesus in the Arms of St. Anthony
Sweet Infant Jesus, You best and only hope of afflicted souls, I prostrate myself at your feet and ask You, through your immeasurable love and grace, by which you did visit Your blessed servant St. Anthony, and comfort and embrace him, to come to me at his intercession and let me taste how sweet Your presence is to the souls that trust in You. Amen **
Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my Denises mother shall be healed.
