Our Father, who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Glory to God,
Source of all being,
Eternal Word and Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning,
Is now and shall be forever.
Amen

I posted a prayer thread about my mother (she has melanoma), but I think I need prayers too.

I have such terrible anxiety and am so scared for her. It’s literally all I ever think about. I keep thinking of the worst case scenarios. What if she can’t handle the interferon? What if she can’t work? How will we support them? I woke up again this morning shaking with fear.

I don’t know what to do.

Thank you for listening.
The Lord knows how you feel because He took on human flesh and suffered greatly for our sins. I am praying that your mother may be healed and that you are comforted in your anxiety.

From Communion Rite of Mass (after Our Father): “Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.” Amen!

My anxiety about my mother’s diagnosis has come raging back. I feel completely worn out and just tired. I’m tired of worrying. Emotionally I feel like I have nothing left right now. I feel discouraged and just so incredibly worried.

I don’t know what to do.

Thank you.

I’m trying really hard to be positive and control my anxiety. It’s a struggle. My mother’s surgeon told her that she was not going to succumb to this illness, which for most people would be a source of great comfort, but I just can’t turn off the negative thoughts in my brain.

Denise,

If your mother’s surgeon is positive then thats a really good sign. I know it’s hard but these feelings are normal, over time this will pass. Many people survive this disease don’t listen to negative people, you are doing all you can…leave the rest to God, there is no more powerful medicine then “Prayer” and especially the prayer of others.

PRAYER FOR TRUST IN JESUS
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us a sense of your presence,
your love and your strength.

Help us to have perfect trust
in your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for living close to you,
we shall see your hand,
your purpose, your will through all things.

-St. Ignatius of Loyola

This powerful prayer for Trust is recommended to be said every day or when you are in trouble. You and your Mother are in my prayers.

Thank you for the continued prayers! I am feeling better and I know that it is not just due to medication; it’s due to the prayers I’ve been receiving and the mercy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I truly believe this and am so very grateful.
