Are you Paladingirl on another message board? I have always thought that you and Paladingirl was one and the same, but I must be wrong since she now is a Hindu and loves Ganesh.

I hope that you prevail in your struggles.
Yes, I am PaladinGirl on another message board. I chose Hinduism for a short while but then I decided that it was wrong and decided to come back to Catholicism. I change religions frequently due to having a disorder known as borderline personality disorder which affects how I view myself. Please pray for me.

I wasn’t sure, but I had a hunch. Thank you for your response.

Holly,

You need to focus on your prayer life and participating at Mass more often especially daily Mass where the setting is far more intimate.

You need to realize that you won’t find the Eucharist anywhere else, and that by itself is cause enough to be Catholic for a lifetime.

Were I you, I would get myself squared away so that I am more deeply involved in Our Lord and realize the terrible price that He has paid for you and me and all of us.

Quit looking over other people’s fences and trying to decide if the grass is greener over there. Every time you jump that fence, you discover that it was all an illusion.

Even if being Catholic was the hardest thing in my whole life and it was going to cost me my life, I would still want to be Catholic, because nothing, but nothing else can even remotely compare.

Don’t do it girl! :irish1:

You know, you’re right. Nowhere else can I find the Eucharist. Nowhere else at all! Well, maybe in the Orthodox Church but the Orthodox Church doesn’t recognize the papacy and therefore is not the one true Church.

I guess I just have a really hard time with the faith, especially lately. I want to remain Catholic. I really do. But sometimes it is just so hard. For example, yesterday I went to confession and Mass but then when I got home, I immediately got in to a state of mortal sin again. I do this all the time. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I don’t know if I am not truly sorrowful for my sins or what. I know that I am sorrowful for my sins at the time of the confession but then after the confession, I get so tempted to sin again. It’s ridiculous really. I wish I knew the solution to this problem but I don’t.

I can’t attend daily Mass because it is too far for me to drive. We don’t have a daily Mass here in my own town. When I move to another town like I am planning to though, I’ll be able to go to a communion service every day. Maybe that will help. 🙂

We all have our struggles Holly.

If being Catholic was easy then it probably wouldn’t be the true faith since Jesus said (Matthew 7) :13] "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14] For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

You never answered my PM I hope u got it. Jesus loved us with the greatest type of love - sacrificial love. Try and do the same for him and you’ll make him very happy. I’m praying for you.🙂

*Holly,

I will continue to pray for you. Have you made an appointment to speak to one of the priests in your parish? Sometimes when it comes to habitual or serious reoccurring occasions of sin, It helps to speak to your priest outside of the confession so that he might give concrete advice on how to avoid and change the underlying issue that causes the sin. We are all praying for you on your journey… don’t give up… the very fact that you are using the sacrament of penance is an indication that you are trying to get closer to Our Lord. Don’t give up!!! blessings*

I haven’t read all the other posts, so maybe this has been discussed already, but is it possible you are suffering from depression? Would you be willing to see your doctor and talk w/ him or her about a depression screening? One of the symptoms of depression is not taking pleasure in things you used to enjoy - and this can apply to Church, too. God Bless.

I am suffering from depression and I am being treated for it as well.

serve the poor. one of the best remedies to many ailments - depression, anxiety, boredom, loneliness, stress, etc., says Fr. Groeschel.

perseverance is continuing to make good on commitments even when you don’t want to do them.

spend regular time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament (go to Adoration) and the devil will be powerless against you.

one of the best things about our Church is the mega deposit of the faith we have. the Sacraments, the millions of books, writings, articles, documents, encyclicals, devotions, etc. covering every type of person for every type of circumstance (Lives of the Saints by Fr. Alban Butler is my fav now)

youth groups, young adult groups, adult groups, family communities, Bible studies, Catechism classes, conferences, retreats(!), community service groups, support groups, kitchens, volunteering, parish work… there are millions of things out there to get you going - you just need to get yourself out there, ask, and discover the things most faithful have no clue about. knock and the door will be opened, i guarantee it. you will be amazed, inspired, in tears, in awe, in love… if only you let God help you.

i happen to like spirituality from the modern psychological perspective. try this chastitysf.com/selfhelp.htm

pray. pray. pray! prayers!

Holly…remember that you are precious in the eyes of God…all He ever wants from you is you.

Ask yourself what it really is that you want to get from being a Catholic.

Then, post that answer here and ask how you might find that which you are looking for.

God already knows what you really want and he tells us many ways to pursue it…He tells us that "everyone who asks recieves; whoever seeks will find; whoever knocks shall have it opened to them…ask, seek, knock in your prayers, persistently, and he will answer if you really listen for His answer.

To move from one place to another seeking answers is like expecting a geographical cure to come about. Everyone has doubts and fears and questions…stay here and focus on your prayers not on some outside solution.

Lastly, find others, perhaps in your parish, with similar questions and discuss this with your priest as a group.

You are loved and in my prayers. ohappyday

Talk to your priest. The Church isn’t a mere abstraction by which to live one’s life. The Church brings the Body, Blood and Divinity of the living Christ. If this has been revealed to you from He who is Truth there is no place better to go. Our love for The Church gets tested and may be frustrating.

Can you imagine a God that knows all that been and all that will ever be? He died so that you may share a part in his devine and everlasting life.

If I may, I suggest participation in Church ministries and be a witness to and a witness for His miracle.
