Whoa, this would so NOT HAPPEN in my car. I’ve already raised 3 daughters into adulthood now. When we got in the car, I had assigned seats. No kidding. Whoever was oldest got to sit in the front. Period. Others went in the back. And when it came time for radio, it was MY station ONLY. This actually started when they were smaller, and it stopped all fighting. When they learned to drive, I let the driver pick the station. Obviously, we would not be listening to anything disgusting.Yeah, it came on in the car on the way home from church one Sunday. I started noticing the lyrics and turned it off. One of the girls turned it back on. I turned it off again. On off on off. I got mad. Told them it was part of a societal effort geared at middle school kids to normalize acceptability of bisexuality. The kids jeered at me and rolled their eyes.
Now when it comes on they make a point of turning the sound up just to annoy me.
Teenagers suck.
Libero, if I were you, I would not bother lecturing kids who jeer you. I would start working on teaching these kids how to respect you. No one should be allowed to be rude to you in any way, shape or form. To teach this rule, you need to be prepared to either pull your car over or turn around and go home. People will be late. People won’t be happy. Oh well. They will learn if they want to get someplace with YOU driving, there will be respect.
