"I Kissed a Girl, and I Liked It"

Everytime I turn on the radio that song is playing! :rolleyes:

Do those of you with kids in the car get a bit anxious when it comes on?
 
Can’t stand the song…I change the station everytime it comes on!

It’s not just the lyrics - it’s the tune also! Just a completely asinine song!
 
Wasn’t this a song 15 years ago? I remember a song with those lyrics from junior high.
 
No kids here, but I would immediately change the station too. Radio’s overplay and overrate stupid songs to the point of insanity. I can tell you that yes initially I would feel uncomfortable for about 1.2 seconds and that is when I change the channel bc I am not going to be uncomfortable in my own car with my own kids for someone else to make a buck of airtime that I dont agree with or feel is a bad example for my kids.
The most aggravating point and I believe is yours too is that anyone born before 1983, their parents didnt have to change the channel, or even change it so much bc stations did not do it so much, especially with songs of no substance. What would give me the anxiety the most is that 1.2 seconds that my kids hear that, and I know they prob heard it at school or somewhere. That’s what tees me off, parents have to do too much damage control these days bc of these idiots, the overly liberal media, and stupid erectile dysfunction commercials with a guy portraying Santa Claus in the middle of the day. TV and radio has no class and common sense anymore.
 
The thing that annoys me the most about this song is that she says “I kissed a girl just to try it” and then she goes on to sing that she has a boyfriend. So she is toying with two people with one action. Can she be more selfish!! My DH just reckons I think to much about songs. And the tune always get stuck in my head and I find myself singing it in the supermarket:D

its not really a problem for us because none of the stations i EVER listen to play this or anything like it.

country, sports,news,polka if i cant find one of those i turn the radio off
 
This dopey song came on when i was sitting down eating a blizzard at dairy queen with my fiance. My fiance was like please dont say anything …but i couldnt stand it so I told the little teenage girl …take off this song now , i dont like it.

all the people in the store were like…err??
 
Either that or the 'I wanna make love in this club…" ARGH! Yep, I just change the station until I find something less offensive or put in a CD.

Though…DH sings a parody of it that has something to do with cleaning the tub 😛 which is pretty funny.
 
I heard this song for the first time in the car yesterday…:mad: The oldest of my kids who is the only one who would have picked up on the lyrics, was not in the car thankfully. Utter trash. Radio, is just such a joke. And what they try to pass off as music these days is tragic. Manufactured, distilled, contrived, and talentless for the most part. My son put a penny in my CD player in the car, :mad: :mad: so it’s out of commission, and that’s what we usually listen to in the car.

Equally repulsive is that Pink song with the lyrics ‘it’s just you and your hand tonight’. I mean come on. Are you SO devoid of anything intelligent to say that you think this is creative or entertaining? And this song is ALWAYS on the station promoting family this and kids that events etc. Can you imagine your kid singing those lyrics around the house:eek:
 
I’ve never heard this song, probably because when I scroll through the channels on my satellite radio, it tells me which song is on each station and I can skip anything obnoxious. I don’t even bother with local broadcast radio except maybe NPR for morning news. I love satellite radio. 👍
 
I’ve never heard about this song (or heard it–I had to look it up and :eek: avoid the video as well) I guess I’m just not hip and cool :rolleyes: 😃 . I listen to our Sirius radio–EWTN, OTR, kids music and old music or I listen to talk radio. I used to be a music teacher and my review of the song as anything musical is ummmm, well it’s just horrid musically. The lyrics are, well, obvioulsy immoral. I would turn it off and then contact the radio station (if it was a family oriented station) and complain. I would set my radio to a more safe station and leave it there.
 
The song is hideous to play on a public radio station. I like the beat and then I tell myself the lyrics are soooo inappropriate and change the station.

Awww Liberanos…:console: that’s just plain nasty. 😦 I hope if they’re going to be that childish, they’re going to be banned from the privilege of the front seat while you’re driving. :tsktsk:

Liberanosamalo it would be a cold day down under the next time I’d be driving them ANYWHERE except school and home (if they have to be driven). That is just not cool.:mad: And for being so disrespectful they’d be totally blacked out; radio, CD’s computer, TV phone(s) you name it. Gross behavior.

Sorry, I’m not trying to telly you what to do:o but that just steams me when kids act like that to their parents.
