I Know Why God Allowed Protestantism

He allowed it because He could see far down the road into the future. He knew artificial contraception was on the way…But thanks to Protestantism, well, those Protesters don’t want to be celibate… or at least not for very long… … Maybe something had to be done to keep us from total annihilation… or whatever… 🤷
What do you think??
I think you are completely mistaken in this supposition. Both good and bad have resulted from the Reformation, but I dont think a concern over total annihilation was the issue. In case you are unaware, the encyclical Humanae Vitae (in which all artificial birth control was denounced as sinful) was not exactly recieved with enthusiasm by Catholics! Plenty of “Catholics” practice artificial birth control…

In John 17, Christ prayed that they may be one, in order that the world might believe in the Son. For the first thousand years, they were mostly one. In the second MIllennium, they have not been one, so now the world does not believe.

But in the Minor Chastisement, all non-Catholic errors shall be shown for what they truly are, so that they who think their darknesses are light, shall be able to see that they are darkness, and hence acknowledge the true light.

And so all Christians shall be able to see the full light, which is the Catholic Church, and they shall be one again, and the world will be able to believe again. At least, for a while, before the final falling away.

Believe it or not, a lot of atheists and other non-Christians also cite such reasons as the Inquisition behaviour of the Catholic Church, indulgences, crusades and the like - not simply that Christians have different denominations, nor even because Catholics themselves have splits and divisions in their lay communities.

Oh, yes, admittedly, these are in the same category. In effect, sin in the Catholic Church, especially the clergy, was the primary seed of the Protestant Rebellion. Hence, in no way do I intend to incriminate merely non-Catholics. SIn in the Catholic Church is a big factor as well.

He allowed it because He could see far down the road into the future. He knew artificial contraception was on the way.

I mean, If the whole world was full of devout Catholics “only” & had been all these 450 years (since Protestantism), we would have far fewer humans on the Earth right now… With contraception, sterilization, women’s lib…(etc)… & Catholicism, the human race may have died out by now… .
As concerns Catholicism…
How can you depend on devout Catholics to propogate the species…
since … Well,
Who do Catholics have for role models?

Jesus & Mary - both VIRGINS. And most of the saints were virgins… St. Jospeh may have been also (?)…

But thanks to Protestantism, well, those Protesters don’t want to be celibate… or at least not for very long… They don’t accept the celibate priesthood - 4 themselves or 4 anyone else… And, i hate to say it, but they seem to fall away from their devotion to Christ more easily than Catholics do… therefore, they fall into fornication more often… (I KNOW… i was outside the Church for a long time, saw and - sady - expeirneced many “things” )…
Anyway, just some ruminations on the possibilities of why God allowed (??) Protestantism… Maybe something had to be done to keep us from total annihilation… or whatever… 🤷

What Do I Think…!🤷 This is a bunch of mumbo Jumbo;)

The Reason we have a Divided Church is because of Free Will! Nothing more nothing less.

Peace!

I think it is wrong to think that God had to let this happen in order to save His Church.
Remember in the Old Testament? He wiped out entire human and only spared Noah’s family?
Hello everyone
This is only my second post on CAF but I have been reading from the forum for quite a long time. I work with a guy who lost his privileges so I thought I would jump into the fray as well.
I personally don’t believe that God “Causes” things to happen, I think He allows it happen.
I also think that it was the wrong doings of the leadership of the RCC that caused people to protest the church. I’m not trying to offend anyone, just giving my opinion. I hope to have many good discussions with you all.

One reason he allowed it was simply free will… He allows people (Martin Luther) to do as they choose… & everyone has to suffer the consequences (and/or benefits) resulting therefrom.

I feel another reason was that Catholics can be so rigid… & not allow themselves to… well, i am having a hard time finding words… but once i went through the “born-again” thing, i was different & I feel that the Catholic Church is a little too “reticent” about the charismatic thing…

To you who are Charismatic - what do you think/feel about this?

God would prefer that they convert, but i do believe God is punishing people 4 contracepting. As stated elsewhere, i know women who used b.c. and then when they came off it, couldn’t get pregannt -EVER… Is there a connection? And/or is it God’s punishment?
I think there is a connection, they screwed up their bodies with overloads of hormones for a lot of years. And who knows what kind of condition they were in before they started the pill? NFP shows a LOT of problems the pill causes. So, maybe a consequence of their own decision, but God’s punishment? I think our own consequences, and subsequent reluctance to ask for forgiveness, are punishment enough. I sure hope He doesn’t have a specific punishment for every sin like that.

I but God’s punishment? I think our own consequences, and subsequent reluctance to ask for forgiveness, are punishment enough. .
You bring up an important point. God does not punish sin, per se… Sin punishes… God is love & does whatever he can (is allowed to) to get us to forsake sin… It is our own doing when we refuse to listen…

If a father tells his child not to go out into the street but the child does so anyway and gets hit by a car… It is not the father punishing the child… it is his sin (disobedience) punishing him. The father did NOT want his child to get hurt (or killed) but he gave the child freedom and has to accept the child’s choice… 😦
