Hi, De Maria!
…the hole in the wall is that parents are not educated nor devout; as time has transgressed Catholicism has become more of a social/family tradition than Faith.
I don’t know everyone personally, so I can’t make such sweeping generalizations. However, that I do know, seem better informed than ever.
If parents don’t know their Faith how can they teach their children?
I didn’t know my faith when my children were born. But by the time they were ready for first communion, I had educated myself.
If parents don’t live their Faith how can they be surprised that their children/grandchildren leave the Church as soon as society’s rewards outweigh the security of what they have understood as Faith?
They shouldn’t be. But they shouldn’t blame the Church, either.
This is where we stand–and don’t forget about all those other issues that are presently hounding the Church!
The Catholic Church is protected by the Holy Spirit and has been around for 2000 years. I don’t worry too much about the Catholic Church.
I do wish though, that individuals would buck up and take responsibility for their own actions. That is what the Church Teaches. Personal responsibility.
