I noted this outta OP-
I told Her I was horny as a cat in heat and lonely
so happmommy scolded me and said-
Bama, that’s the one line you picked up on during her whole post
No it wasn’t, I also picked this tidbit up-
Fueled with alcohol, dressing up with my girlfirends, driving guys wild in the bars and clubs, dancing the night away, ending with mindblowing sex.
🎉

You know something - today I spoke to Mary, after I posted this. I told Her I was horny as a cat in heat and lonely as hell and I was going out tonight and She can stop looking at me like that and say what she likes;

That wasn’t the half of it. :o I gave Her a real proper talking to. Oh Yes. I put her straight on a few things let me tell you. She got the sharp edge of my tongue that’s for sure.

I was talking to her as I was stomping around the house. I stormed into the bedroom to look at my wardrobe. I flung the doors open with great gusto, and they flung back on me, the right one hitting me square on the cheek.

I screamed, and flung the door open again. This time it came back on me and hit me full on in the face

Im so sorry Mother I said. But a simple ‘No’ would have done !!!
:rotfl:

:slapfight: :blackeye:

You duked it out with Mother Mary… and she won! Oh, that is funny. Now I have to thank you for the laugh!

As said before, you don’t have to give ALL that up! just tone it down a bit! I met my (now) catholic husband at a night club. it was ladies night, I was pretty much lit, my wranglers were way too tight, and there was a group of Marines checking me and my girlfriends out. the rest is history. we fell in love, got him baptised, got married, and now we do that other thing. ALOT. 😃 we still go out with our friends, sometimes, too. it’s fun to dance and get rowdy, drink a few… and a couple more… we just have different priorities now. I don’t feel guilty about going out and having fun. every weekend? heck no, but a few times a year now.

Don’t limit yourself to a catholic guy. find a good guy who is with you for the right reasons and wants to wait, to please you. it’s tough. but guys respect that too. mine did. and then, when he’s hooked, start introducing the church to him… and maybe arm yourself with this forum and some good apologetics… and see if you can convince him. again, it was some work, but I managed it. And even if you don’t end up marrying him, you’re doing the Lord’s work.

Good luck, God bless, and HAVE FUN! you’re only young once!

You know, at times I miss all of that as well.

I wasn’t an angel, ya know?

However, I do not miss …

Bowing to the porcelain god …

thinking to I must have picked up the flu EVERY SINGLE Sunday morning…

Thinking, nope, it sure wasn’t as good as I thought it was last night…

Go buy a new tube of lipstick…

Bowing to the porcelain god …
Ha! I always used to refer to it as “talking on the big white telephone”!

Ag, I love reading your threads, you have quite a way with words and are so honest about your feelings.

God bless, Pat

Then you used to get naked and allow this stranger, whose last name you didn’t know, to actually enter your body’s most private and intimate place, with his most private and intimate parts. If he was living the way you did, the part that was inside you at the time could have been inside several other women, and for all you know, men, that same week. And what if he hadn’t showered the last one off before he met you?
What, so she is supposed to think sex is dirty now…???

Ok, she wants to change her modus operandi in keeping with her newly discovered/re-discoverd catholic faith. Sounds like she’s done a good job, and it’s time to get back out there and have some fun. A happy medium is the answer.

Good post.

Do the jeans still fit?

There’s a ton of things men and women can do that don’t come down to sex. 😉 This doesn’t mean sex is dirty - far not, but it’s meant for marriage and certainly not as the only way to show love. There are always extreme sports to burn the energy and there are long walks and talks to feel an affinity with another person. You can write poems, play chess, ride horse, climb mountains, do tons of things together and they will create priceless memories. When you’re married, sex is going to be there and you’d better enjoy it, but so far why not try something different? You have tried the previous approach and turned to the Catholic faith, so you obviously made the choice. Why not follow through and engage in the romance that brings forth the dignity of the person and the love that does not come down to its physical expression? When was the last time you’ve read about knights and princesses? No, I’m not kidding. At least consider the Lord of the Rings versus the kind of “romance” we’re used to seeing in films. Go back merely a couple of decades with films and books (Westerns come to mind in particular) and tell me it’s not more alluring and more in accordance with human nature than the kind of thing where only relief matters. 😉

You know, it helps me too. I don’t want to do it today’s world’s way, or rather I want to make today’s world what it should be. Got to have some ideals and something to look back on so that you have something to look forward to.

Lost my job, so almost all my time been job searching (any prayers appreciated! :o ) but decided to stop in.

Bruxilda, been thinking about you and still praying for you on your journey Home.

Keep up the good work!

You know there is something to be said for dressing modestly that is quite attractive.
I agree. Look at Donna Reed in It’s a Wonderful Life. She was modest the whole way, and she was pretty. A lot of girls back then were. Sometimes it IS attractive to dress modestly.

It always is. The substandard notice “sexy” dress or act elicits from me is nothing compared to the genuine appreciation I have for a ladylike visage. 😛 In the winter season, no amount of skinny jeans, cleavage or bra straps even begins to compare to a knee-long skirt, neck-tall blouse with full sleeves, calm shoes, unobtrusive tights.

Yup :yup:

You seem to get it, but at the same time, not totally, though who does? It is easier to be brave when we figure out that all people struggle with sin. Though I think the key is to be truly sorry for our sins, not just being sad or depressed, but sorrowful for the pain we caused at Calvary. I read some of your other posts, you seem to be pretty smart (and bold), I think that you would make a good repentent sinner and I encourage you to share your story with whoever God puts into your life. Thanks for sharing your story, sounds similar to that of the Prodigal Son.

P.S. I am sensing a bit of “Sex in the City” in your posts, try to wean yourself off of shows like that, they are not very Catholic; remember your eyes are the windows to your soul.

Here is my quote:
“Dare to waste some time in silence today, in the presence of Jesus (Adoration or in Spirit).” – Not Sure Who Said It 🤷

Hi OP;

It’s not uncommon when trying to give up a sinful lifestyle, to at the same time, yearn for it. But, don’t worry…if you keep talking to Mary, you will turn a corner, and you will never look back. Just keep praying and asking Mary to pray for you. You sound like you are on your way, and I thought your story was very…different. And blunt. 😃

I liked to go dancing, and dated a little too much in college days (I didn’t sleep with men, but temptation was everywhere, every day) and now, nearing the big 40, I look back at those ‘wilder’ days, and while I’m glad I had my fun, I am glad to lead a much calmer, reserved…and MODEST lifestyle now. I definitely didn’t dress back then, like someone who wanted to remain a virgin. I did remain one, but by the way I dressed (tight skirts, jeans etc) I definitely sent off a mixed message. I regret that very much. But, confession is a beautiful Sacrament, and one in which I still make use of often.

Just hang in there…don’t give in to the devil…he likes when you’re weak…he likes when you’re feeling lonely…“etc”…😉 But, Mary is all too willing and ready to keep praying for you, when you seek Her guidance. Keep up the good fight…what awaits you just around the corner is really awesome. And it far surpasses the wild nights…and all that jazz. 😉

God bless!
