Since your user name is Paris, why not look into a name based on the Martyrs of Compeigne? They were sixteen Carmelite nuns, all beheaded on the same day during the French Revolution. They had pledged their martyrdom to end the terror. Ten days after their deaths, it was over.
No because I’m not too interested in that. I used my username Paris Blues because that’s the name brand of some clothes 😛
I really don’t live in Paris though maybe I should! 😃

What about the saint whose feastday you were born on? That’s what my brother did! 😃

Since your birthday is January 17, what about:

St. Anthony the Abbot

I don’t think you HAVE to have a saint name for confirmation. I might suggest going with a saint who has the same name as you (if there is one). If not, find a saint you really like and go with him or her.

I have 2 patron saints - St. Nicholas (same name) and St. Michael (taken at confirmation).

How about St. Barsanuphius? 😃

Hermit of Gaza, in Israel. An Egyptian, Barsanuphius maintained his hermitage near a monastery in Gaza. He was renowned for his holiness and wisdom, refusing to speak and communicating only in writing. He was famous for existing without food or water.

Ahh the little card is still on the fridge from when I joined the CC. St Raymond of Penafort and then my name below. I choose him b/c Ray was the name of my father in law who instilled a love of the CC in me as I stated on another thread today.

Are you allowed to have two? 😛
Actually, I think you are allowed to have 2. I forget where I heard this, but I did somewhere. John Paul I & II took two names as pope and so can we!

Really. Awesome. I call dibs on Mother Mary and St. Ignatious Laloya.

Paris: did I miss a trick? Did you choose a Confirmation name?

I chose St. Cecilia…patron Saint of Music.
Me too  While I left my “musical career” in high school, it is through playing the trombone that my husband and I started our friendship. But now I really admire her faith and purity. She is such a wonderful inspiration. And her feast day happens to be on my deceased grandfather’s birthday!

My husband chose St. Benedict, who is a very popular saint in our family and in this geographical location (because of a nearby Benedictine monastery). His friend and my cousin both experienced miracles involving the St. Benedict’s Crucifix.

Does anyone know if you can choose “All Saints”? Seems like that would be an unfair advantage!
