On “Canada’s Worst Driver” they found one poor woman who couldn’t drive at all when her husband was in the car.

They discovered that he was continually putting her down and yelling at her when she was driving, so what they did was they tape-recorded him while he was in the car with her, and then later they played the tape back for him. He was totally shocked; he didn’t even realize that he had been saying those things to her. So, he made a resolution not to speak at all when he was in the car, or else to say only positive things to her, and her recovery was astounding - she went from “worst driver” to “excellent driver” in one day.

Maybe hide a tape recorder in the car, and then play it back to your sister when you both have a chance to sit down calmly. You can play the tape for her, and tell her, “These are the things you say to me when we are driving together. This is why I get confused and can’t think straight, whenever you are in the car with me.”

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

How about this? husband drives, while i observe. can’t resist but to ask where is he heading because we passed two streets and he didn’t make a turn. Said that he will take another route which I find very “out-of-the way”. In my mind, why can’t he take a shorter route, a more practical way and will not waste fuel. 🙂 He got mad, steps out of the car and let me drive! How is that?

Does he make it to his destination in good time when he is driving by himself?

If so, then how about just letting the driver do the driving? 🙂

maybe you are right, i just have to let him drive and waste 5 or 10 minutes of our time, and maybe 1/10 of a liter of gasoline 🙂 maybe i have to accept that he is not really good in directions because this happened not only once. or maybe i should suggest that he should try to search Google Earth to familiarize himself with directions. I know, i am being sarcastic here forums.catholic-questions.org/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
