I really, really need your input

When I started this journey, I was plagued with guilt because I was not providing our daughter with any religious upbringing. I could not ignore it. Also, this particular problem in this thread caused me to move closer and closer to God. Now, He does not let me get away with much. He is right there pinging my conscience. Why does He ping some people and not others?

sherilo, you hit the nail on the head with that one- When we draw closer to God, His will is made clear to us. We give Him permission to direct our lives. He needs to teach us, sometimes, what His will is, and He needs to show us. Like a parent that speaks up “HOT!” when a child approches a stove. When we are lukewarm, or lost in our sin, we don’t allow God to speak up for us. We are not open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and we shut our hearts to Him. That He will not let you “get away” with much is good! It means you are on the right track! Follow Him wherever He leads you in prayer. He loves you, and will never let you down!
 
Al-Anon may be helpful. You will hear others with similar problems. Just be careful to combine this with prayer before the Holy Eucharist.
