It seems that you expect that the priest will be available to you 24/7. That is an unrealistic expectation on your part, and I hope you’re not making judgments about the priest because he’s not meeting expectations you are personally setting. Like any of us, a priest must take care of himself. He eats, hangs out with friends, and RESTS. Priests are not super-human. Usually, there’s an “emergency” number on the parish answering machine, for those who immediately need the anointing of the sick, but in your case, as depressed as you are, you’re not “emergency status” as far as needing a priest personally on a weekend. Please don’t call the priest at his home. Call the parish during regular office hours, and make an appointment with the priest. You can tell the staff person it’s urgent and you need to meet with the priest as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep praying. Satan is doing what he can to “stir the pot” of your emotions, because he wants to bring you into greater despair and away from God. Remain patient, trusting that the Divine Healer is with you – open up your heart to him.
It is obvious that your grandmother is anti-Catholic and will continue to make disparaging remarks about the priest and about the Catholic church. Please try to ignore her words when she is less than charitable, to forgive her, and to love her.
I hope you’ll call the parish office in the morning.
Believe that those of us who have read about your distress are praying for you.

I dont expect him to always be there for me but I am tried to find a answer to my question since around Easter yet cant get 1

It will be hard to do anything with your family against the Church like it is. At least they are willing to let you go to Mass on Sundays, there are certainly spiritual benefits whether you receive communion or not…I hope as well that you continue your attendance at Mass. Don’t give up be persistant. Is there no one in the Church community being of any help to you? People on forums on the Internet can only offer so much. You are in my prayers.

when I emailed a Deacon that works with the Bishop here is the reply I got (wasnt much help)

Dear Christian,

It sounds as if you are interested in coming into full communion with the Catholic faith. If so, I would recommend that you speak with the pastor at the parish you have been attending for the past year and presumably, the one through which you received the anointing of the sick.

Your information about non-Catholics and reception of Communion under certain circumstances and with a pastor’s permission is correct. However, that is to deal with short term or one-time situations. I know from experience that the Bishop would recommend the same thing as me, and that is for you to pursue entrance into the Church through the parish priest and the parish programs designed to welcome new membership in the Catholic faith. I would also recommend that you acquire a Catechism of the Catholic Church to familiarize yourself with our teachings more fully.

I wish you well and you will be in my prayers as you discern your future faith life and deal with your illness.

I kinda wish this tumor would kill me as fast as this swan flu is killing some people

I feel like im living in hell and maybe on my way to hell

so far it seems that dying is more painful then loseing someone else cause of death

I understand that your Granny coming from a protestant perspective might feel like she does. You must turn to God Kathy, it is in his hands. Ask for His will in your life. Lift your Granny and your family up in prayer to the Holy Father in Heaven. Pray before the crucifix as a reminder of what Our Lord Jesus suffered for us on the cross.

I tried to call the priest he answerd the phone but all he kept saying was Hello

Was he not able to hear what you were saying?

I asked her what does she think the Priest would say if he knew this

I did read your last post, you added to it after I had already posted!

It’s not that they don’t care, they don’t know because no one has talked to you. I know some have already posted about what needs to take place for you to receive communion, so I won’t go into that again, but there really are some things that need to happen first and talking to the priest is the main one.
Did you leave a message for him when you called? Is there anyone who would be willing to call for you and get the info. you need?

Kathrynsue, You say that your protestant Baptist church is it? Bans you because you cuss loudly and it is disruptive. Have you or your family asked in what other ways your Baptist ministry can minister to you?

If you can’t handle the church issue at this time, let it go for now. As we are all praying for you Kathrynsue I hope you are as well. Open your bible and seek out some comfort in that. Being handicapped as you are it is very difficult to find people equiped in handling your situation. Rest in prayer and start over another day.
