If you were baptized in the trintiy it would be official. If they said (In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit) . Have you asked for an annointing of oil?
Go to a priest and ask for to go to confession. Ask for an annointing and holy water.

Receiving the Eucharist is what Catholic is all about, it is being one with Jesus one bread one body. It is a sacrament and very holy. You are joined with Jesus and his Church which is all of us in one body. I’m sorry this is hard for you but Jesus will not reject you He loves you just as you are, but we are all sinners so we need confession and and absolution which comes from the priest who is representing Christ.
Here is a reading how Jesus healed a man who was paralyzed aboutbibleprophecy.com/m8.htm
I got the annoiting of the sick the sunday before last

Kathrynsue, the peace that Jesus gives us is beyond our understanding, we just accept it through His word and he is the Word that came in the flesh, which we receive and believe He is in the communion host. Other Churches do not believe this or teach it. When you partake of the communion you are giving to Jesus all of you and joining with Him. He is the vine. We are the branches. This is what we believe through the teachings of the Catholic Church and the traditions of the Church. You say you want peace, in your PM I can not give it to you but you seek it where it can be found. I will pray for you, tomorrow in my prayers of the rosary at the adoration of the blessed sacrament. It is late now here so I need to turn in God Bless you dear, my prayers for a more bright day tomorrow. May the Holy spirit come to you in your sleep. And Pm me again tomorrow.

A thanks:), well your welcome! 🙂 Thanks for the Pm and Thanks be to God:)

kathrynsue,
Why do you want to receive the Eucharist but not become Catholic?

They aren’t doing it to make you join the Church. It’s just that the Catholic Church is a world-wide Church and they are very particular about how they do things… always in an orderly fashion and nobody gets to make up their own rules. It’s very different from a Baptist Church where the Pastor or the elders get to decide everything themselves. It’s not like that in the Catholic Church at all.

When you receive the Eucharist you are saying that you are in “union” or agreement with the Catholic Church. I’m not sure how that would work since you aren’t in “agreement” … and your desire is to remain a non-Catholic. Hopefully the Priest will be able to guide you if it’s possible in your unique case.

I still don’t understand why you want the Eucharist so badly that you can’t sleep at night? Why is this causing you so much stress? Even if you can’t receive the Eucharist, you can still attend and participate in the mass. You said you are welcome there. Do you feel closer to God when you go? Do you feel at peace?

I feel left out I feel traped i feel like I am less of a christian or something

I have heard that there is healing in commuion/Eurchrist and someone would have to be out of there mind not to think I need healing

I have cried so much so far tonight that I think I am starting to get a headach 😦

I am going to quote the document you quoted earlier:

"This administration is limited to “Christians who are not in full communion with the Catholic Church but who greatly desire to receive these sacraments, freely request them and manifest the faith which the Catholic Church professes with regard to these sacraments. Conversely, in specific cases and in particular circumstances, Catholics too can request these same sacraments from ministers of Churches in which these sacraments are valid.”

Notice the part that is red and bold. Do you manifest the faith which the Catholic Church professes with regard to these sacraments? Do you manifest - live and believe, that the Eucharist is the real body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ? That you must recieve them in a manner free from mortal sin, having made a good confession?

If you do not manifest this Faith, the Bishop or even the Pope cannot give you access to these Sacraments. The priest, Bishop and Pope, along with every other Christian, can pray for you.

Ask for prayers from this Priest, do not ask that he gives you what he cannot. Pray that God will give you peace and comfort and that God lead you to the truth.

havent been even offerd the chance to go to Conffession
I do believe that there is something special in the bread and wine thing I dont think they are just any usual/normal bread and wine

if they would normal stuff some people wouldnt say there is healing in it

I will keep you in my prayers, Kathryn. This is all extremely frustrating and upsetting for you, that is completely understandable, but you are doing the right thing by seeking out the permission you need and for respecting our beliefs by doing so. Thank you very much for that and I hope & pray God blesses you richly for it. We are not trying to mess with you about this joining business- “joining” is the standard requirement because receiving Holy Communion not only puts you in communion with our Lord but with all Catholics, the entire Church. To receive Holy Communion while not actually being in communion with the Catholic Church would be dishonest, and a dishonesty using our Lord’s Body and Blood which we believe, as you must know, are literally Present in the Blessed Sacrament. This communion must exist by manifesting “Catholic faith” and being properly disposed even in the very rare circumstance that exceptions are made, when those communicating are not even Catholic by baptism or confirmation.

From “Eucharist, Communion and Solidarity,” a speech by our Holy Father while he was a Cardinal:
We all “eat” the same person, not only the same thing; we all are in this way taken out of our closed individual persons and placed inside another, greater one. We all are assimilated into Christ and so by means of communion with Christ, united among ourselves, rendered the same, one sole thing in him, members of one another.
To communicate with Christ is essentially also to communicate with one another. We are no longer each alone, each separate from the other; we are now each part of the other; each of those who receive communion is “bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh” (Gn 2,23).
Most people are perfectly capable of that communion by being fully received into the Church. Rarely, as you know, there are exceptions that the Church has mercifully provided for, and even then that communion- that unity in faith- must be present. It is not an effort to keep people away from our Lord when they have no choice about the matter. Sometimes our shepherds do not act as quickly as we’d like but, please remember they are the “spiritual fathers” of many souls. We must pray for their hard work, and for increased vocations to lighten the load in the future, and keep on trying. (I am also trying to get some answers which are very time dependent, Kathryn, and believe me I share your frustration! They are just very busy men, esp. with the priest shortage we have going on in my part of the world).

Anyway, I urge you to make Acts of Spiritual Communion at Mass (you can check Google for many formulas, or you can make up your own!) and steep in our Lord’s Presence, both at Mass and if you are permitted at Adoration as well, even if you cannot receive Him at this time. Know He sees the desire of your loving heart and that desire and love are beautiful gifts to Him. God bless you!

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds, hide me.
Separated from Thee let me never be.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of death, call me.
To come to Thee, bid me,
That I may praise Thee in the company
Of Thy Saints, for all eternity. Amen.

not sure how I can ever remember all of it tho

I am saying I bet the priest and bishops in your area would not be so hard to talk to and I would had my answer by now
I once wrote a letter to my bishop to get clarification on a matter of faith and it took several MONTHS to receive a reply. My family and I moved into a new house and it took a few YEARS for the pastor to get out here and bless our home and I am active in the pariah involved in the Knights of Columbus, EMHC, Parish Council, maintaining the parish website, etc.

So please do not assume that the delays which you are experiencing are unusual.

I never said I want to become CATHOLIC NEVER SAID THAT
again I dont want to become catholic
Members of those churches with whom we are not yet fully united are ordinarily not admitted to Holy Communion BECAUSE Catholics believe that the celebration of the Eucharist is a sign of the reality of the oneness of faith, life, and worship. Additionally, even Catholics who are conscious of grave sin are not to receive the Body and Blood of the Lord without prior sacramental confession. ([Source (http://www.usccb.org/liturgy/current/intercom.shtml): United States Conference of Catholic Bishops)

How can you go to confession and confess your sins so that you can properly receive the Eucharist if you do not know the Catholic faith (because you are not a part of it) and therefore even know what to confess? Additionally, you want to participate in a sign of the unity of the faith with a faith that you do not want to be united with because you do not want to become a Catholic. Don’t you see something wrong with that picture?

again I dont want to become catholic plus I am not allowed to any way cause my grand ma said dont join ur just doing it to take the eurchrist which would be correct if I did join
Kathryn, I’ve been reading your 2 threads and I’m confused as I think others are here.

Why do you want to receive the Eucharist, but do not want to become a Catholic? If this priest you have been speaking about, knows this then I don’t believe you stand a chance of doing so.🤷

This is so not true you will never be refused communion. Our nursing home priest takes the communion to the residents into there room if they do not go to the chapel. I believe you have in your sincere heart the desire for communion. You sound like you understand only can’t write it quite clearly. I wish I could reach out to you right now and tell you that there is hope. I pray for you to be approached now for the desire you have. I knew someone with this T. disease and he knew he may not have any amount of borrowed time. I pray that there are no more obstacles for you to receive. Talk with a deacon or a grief counselor of a nursing home or a social worker, you need some one to help you stand up for what you want.
The priest has an obligation to make sure the person understands the Eucharist and believes the same as we do. Same thing with Confession. This doesn’t seem to be the case here. If Kathryn had a desire to become Catholic the situation would be different but she does not. She is welcome to come to Mass but no , she should not be admitted to the Sacraments as she does not come from a church with a form of the Sacraments and this is not a emergency deathbed situation as of yet. There isn’t anything preventing her becoming a Catholic but herself. It is not time or situation but her unwillingness to do so.

There is a lot of hope and grace from attending Mass with an open heart. I hope that KathrynSue does this and makes an appointment to speak to the priest. Perhaps she can explain better than she has here. Although I think she is clear with her denial of becoming a Catholic as well as her not really believing that the Host is the actual Body of Christ at this time.I’ll ask her to clarify.

Do you believe that the actual Body, Blood , Soul and Divinity of Christ are present in the Eucharist- The Bread and the Blood? Do you believe that the priest has the authority to forgive sins in Jesus name?

I like the Anima Christi Prayer also. I spend a lot of time in front of the Blessed Sacrament and Crucifix meditating on it.

I also like the St Patrick Lorica Prayer
You can find it and more prayers here-

Praying for you Kathryn Sue. :gopray:
