It could be. The statement itself seems to indicate you laugh at all gay people. I personally laugh at some people in general. I don’t laugh at someone because they are gay, anymore than I laugh at someone because they are straight. I find some of the more boisterous and outrageous people to be very funny, regardless of orientation.
It’s also according to why you are laughing. Are you laughing at something they did or something they are? Are you laughing at a feminine antic because the particular thing they are doing is funny or because it’s not what you deem normal behavior? Like I said above, it has a lot more to do with what and why you are laughing.

I’d be very, very careful with how you word that: not all gay men are effeminate and not all gay women are masculine, any more than all straight women are girly and all straight men are rough and tough. There’s as much variation in their behavior as there is among the rest of the population.

I am a San Franciscan (native of the city) – several years ago I must have “missed” something in the newspaper about the “gays” (it definitely was not the gay pride parade – I do believe I’d notice that in the paper). At any rate I went downtown that Sunday on the municipal street car system – the car was full of “gays” and they were all-over each other – kissing, hugging – you name it. I was truly annoyed a/c I think that kind of behavior is supposed to be private!! I might add that I believe that changing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” is going to ruin the military!!!

I have worked with Gay men that do have more feminine behaviors, but I don’t find it funny tho,

I agree it’s for private. I’d have been annoyed as well to see an entire buss of heterosexual people ‘all over each other’. My wife and I, while we might peck each other on the lips once in a while in public and hold hands, keep our truly intimate gestures to the privacy of our room.

Will on “Will and Grace” a decade back seemed fairly normal, except that he had an attraction to men (except Jack, who is decidedly effeminate - and weird).
Effeminate behaviour is also not limited to homosexual men. And of course, vice verse.

Take Modern Family, the two gay guys on that show are very funny in a humerous kind of way. I watch it sometimes if there’s nothing else on, and yes, laugh at some of the jokes and situations.
What I don’t find funny, is how that immorality is being normalised by such a show. And what I really don’t find funny [even though they’re fictional characters who don’t exist] is the poor child they adopted and are exposing to such a disgusting lifestyle.
The show is on at 7pm, where young children and other impressionable sorts see it. Its not good at all for the moral fibre of this world.

Sounds a lot like “Two and a Half Men” over here in America - except that Charlie (was) sleeping with other women, not men. Also shown on primetime TV.
I do not know where the sodomy in British TV came from, but IIRC, did it start with Russel T. Davies’s “Queer as Folk”? He is a homosexual, and an atheist.

You and me both: I hear a lot of people going on about gay couples kissing or holding hands in public and limiting it to just that, but when’s the last time you saw someone going on about a heterosexual couple being all :: Makes kissy noises and pantomimes someone being handsy with their honey :: in public?? I live in Massachusetts, aka the Gay State and I see a lot more heterosexual couples trying crawl inside each other’s pants in public than gay couples (with the exception of the strange pair of schoolgirl lesbians who used to hang around the front end of the store where I work; all the while that they were trying to crawl into each other’s pants, they were also sighing over my very handsome male supervisor. It was as weird as it sounds.)

This is true. Most rape crimes in prisons are commited by non-gay men on non-gay men.

I thought the date was the 23rd. Turns out it was the 21st.

The presence of open homosexuals in militaries doesn’t seem to have done anything at all to militaries of plenty of other nations around the world.
I find it kind of odd that you would suggest that our military is so weak that it would be “ruined” by something that has had virtually no negative effects in other militaries around the world.

That’s a pretty big judgment to be passing on an entire group of people.
When you consider the kinds of heterosexual behaviors on television noted by other posters – sleeping around with multiple partners, cheating on partners, and generally taking a crass approach to sexuality – the portrayal of two people maintaining a loving relationship and raising a child together doesn’t seem so bad, from the perspective of traditional morality.
Sure, that’s what they’d want us to believe…

The hour that I did spend in a housing unit with the other prisoners, though, actually wasn’t bad for what it was. Then again, it was minimum security. And it was approaching bed time. Thank God Mom bailed me out, though.
So I don’t end up derailing the thread, though, it’s fairly reasonable to suppose that straight men rape other straight men in prison, when you factor in that women are separated from men, their lives are somewhat dystopic even in minimum security, and sex is sometimes traded like a commodity in prisons. Sex feels good. So they offer gifts to others, thinking that that the other guy now “owes” them something. That’s the correctional facility also recommends not to accept gifts.
I find it difficult to believe that these men were closet homosexuals all this time when there are far better reasons to explain it.

Sorry, but you seem to have fallen for the propaganda that homosexuals’ homosexuality is actually** equivalent** to heterosexuals’ heterosexuality. It’s not.
Yes it’s offensive and inappropriate for a man and woman to be “all over each other in public” but it’s far far worse for two people of the same sex to be doing the same thing, either in public or in private.
