What do I have to do to ask God for a loving husband and healthy baby?

If you figure it out let me know too.;)😃 I’ve tried praying, internet dating, friend recommendations…even speed dating. Still single. I’m not really looking anymore I kind of approach the whole thing at a distance these days. I guess I’ve been out there in the market too long. Good luck though. 👍😉

Ladies,

Keep praying and know that Mr. Right will be coming around, literally, when you least expect it.

God Bless you! Your going to make some guys very happy one day! Keep the faith and be strong!

Tim

I know how you feel; as a mid-twenties something single girl (or guy), it can be frustrating to see others get married and start having families while we are still single, but it’s also a unique time for us to develop as people while we have the time and energy to get involved and find out what kind of people we want to be. Now, this could be completely unfounded, so feel free to correct me, but I’m wondering if the whole, “I want a husband and baby” thing might be a little scary for the guys? Certainly it’s good that you are not approaching dating as a frivolous way to have some fun, but rather as a way to discern who you will marry, but it’s also important to remember that relationships take a while to develop. We need to have the end goal, marriage and family, in mind, but we also have to remember to focus on the present moment and not get ahead of ourselves. Even good Catholic guys who also want a loving wife and family one day still want to be loved for themselves and seen for who they are as an individual, not just seen as the prospective husband and father!

In my case it’s Mrs. Right
, but I’m wondering if the whole, “I want a husband and baby” thing might be a little scary for the guys?
I imagine it is with a lot of guys nowadays. For me though my mentality has been “I want a wife and a baby” so i guess that excludes me.

Keep putting yourself in situations where you can meet nice catholic men. Things will work out eventually.

Right there with you Sierrah. I also haven’t had any luck with the things you mentioned. It is disappointing how few people are choosing to remain abstinent until marriage. Anyway, I’m in my late 20s and still single, but I am sure I’ll cross paths with the right woman for me eventually. I’ve realized that things don’t always happen on the timeline you want them too, but they will happen. In the meantime, pressure from family/friends to find someone doesn’t help. I have four weddings to attend over a six week span later in the summer…that should be interesting when I show up without a date to all of them.

Very well said, I agree with your post almost entirely. For me personally, I don’t find the female perspective/mentality of ‘I want a husband and baby’ thing to be scary, but it may alarm me if it seems like that ‘agenda’ is being pushed upon me early in the dating process rather than developing naturally as the relationship takes it course.

I second this sigh
Chins up lads and ladies, God has a plan for us I’m sure! 👍

Well hon all you need to do is keep praying dear, keep on praying and leave it all in GOD’s hands…Of course it might not be a good idea to also put a little effort on your part and make sure you let GOD guide you into understanding the kind of perfect man you would like as your loving husband and then once GOD has guided you and you find this wonderful loving husband, then hon take care of yourself while pregnant, exercise, eat well and leave it all in GOD’s hands knowing you did your best and that’s all you can do and GOD willing you will continue having a loving husband and a healthy baby! 😃

I am hoping for my bf and I to finally marry and have a wonderful family together, even though I was told I couldn’t have any more children…I am super happy with my 3 children but you know when you want to be open to life sometimes life just can’t happen…SO still praying and hopeful! 😃 God bless…

I hate to be the voice of reality, but how can anyone know this? I can’t speak for anyone else, but I always get irritated when someone says something like this to me. Unless they’ve secretly invented a time machine and have traveled to the future and personally witnessed said events, there’s no way they or I can know what will happen.

The voice of reality? Sounds more like your the voice of bitterness.

I can name several of my good friends who found their spouse when they had just gotten off of a bad breakup. Or when someone was feeling lonely for a prolonged period of time. Or, when someone’s mother has cancer, and they met someone in the hospital cafeteria and are still with the person to this day.

Be a romantic, not a realist.

Right and good for them (seriously). But no one can know that they’ll eventually meet someone. Lots of people go to their graves without ever meeting anyone so it’s impossible to assume that it will eventually happen just “because”.

Lots? Considering that over 90% of people in the world get married eventually…it’s alot less then “lots”.

So you’re saying that everyone who wants to get married and have a family will ultimately find the right person without exception?
No, I said we have God and statistics on our side. The vast majority find someone in God’s time. Just keep praying and trusting in the Lord. I am in the same boat as you, but I know things will work out. Just pursue your path, and someone will cross it when you least expect it.

Have you considered maybe your not finding someone because of some aspect of your personality? You seem to be almost looking for an argument-or looking for reasons why you won’t find someone. Perhaps if you focused more on finding someone (a Catholic dating group? Your parish? Your friends?) you might be happier.

I’m not even looking for someone, I’m just not a fan of meaningless platitudes. Never have been, for any kind of problem. Like I said, I’m a total realist so unless someone has evidence or a logical argument as to why someone should expect something to happen (good or bad), I generally don’t put stock in it.

To answer your question:

Prayer For a Partner
O my Savior, who died for my redemption, I beseech you by the infinate merits of your Precious Blood, to grant me the necessary light and grace to choose the partner with whom I can best work out my eternal salvation. Mary, my Mother, obtain for me this grace by your most powerful intercession. St. Joseph, patron of Christian families, pray for me.

Pray, pray, pray!! DO NOT SETTLE for someone just because you want to have a family!
If it is God’s will for you to be a wife and mother-He will make it so. Just be patient and listen to God’s voice. By God’s grace you will find a good Catholic man!🙂

Maybe we need to sponsor a CAF mixer somewhere in the middle of where all the single people on this board live - hmmm - I know there are probably some from all over the world -but hey - isn’t there a CAF idea section?

Seriously - I know several women that I grew up with that it just hasn’t happened for yet. I will pray for all of you. I know it must seem like you’re stuck on hold.
