I totally agree with this definition, the cross is used all over the world in religious cerimonies and many use it in thier worship. If you say you dont then i believe you, but what can we say for the millions who do?Your mistake is not knowing what an idol is.
Webster dictionary
1 : a representation or symbol of an object of worship; broadly : a false god
I have never heard anyone say that the cross is a god until they do it is not an idol.
Catholics are very aware of it. That’s why you won’t see any statues of Hindu gods or golden calves, which represent false gods. You still haven’t explained why illustrations in Bibles, or photographs, or nativity sets aren’t false idols.I find in interesting that with all the idols and statues in many churches, people still dont get that many times God said beware. Ps.115:4-8
I find it interesting that, despite being told repeatedly, you won’t admit that just because a statue is in a Church, doesn’t make it an idol.I find in interesting that with all the idols and statues in many churches, people still dont get that many times God said beware.
Praying for me is not needed, but thanks for thinking of me.I find it interesting that, despite being told repeatedly, you won’t admit that just because a statue is in a Church, doesn’t make it an idol.
I’ll go say some Hail Mary’s for you, in front of the statue of the Our Lady of All Graces that comes to me from my Great-Grandmother, before I go to bed. It’s almost midnight here.
You are misquoting me so your question is moot. The cross is NOT a god. ONLY if people believe it is a god does it become an idol. I know of NO ONE who believes that the cross is a god not to mention millions.I totally agree with this definition, the cross is used all over the world in religious cerimonies and many use it in thier worship. Yes… as images to remind us of the great role models of our Christian faith, and to help us focus our worship on GOD… NOT a false god.The statue of mary? Jesus on the cross? are these not objects of worship? I have seen people kneel and bow to these images when praying.

The cross and the crucifix both serve a purpose in the Catholic Church. The crucifix is a reminder of the price in horrible suffering that Jesus paid for our salvation, and the cross is a symbol of the resurrection. So why do you have the cross?
No. Webster definition of worshipThe statue of mary? Jesus on the cross? are these not objects of worship? I have seen people kneel and bow to these images when praying.
Correct. We are coming to Him through Him… and His message. The objects are not the objects of worship themselves. Like the Bible, they assist us.Jesus said noone comes to the father except through me…not other objects
Revelations is a good place to start. Pick up “The Lamb’s Supper” by Scott Hahn for a very thorough explanation of this topic, and how Revelation is also a reflection of the Mass, and how the Mass is a reflection of worship in heaven. Can you show me where in the bible i can study this.
