Iceland Bans All Strip Clubs

OK, what’s a strip club? You have grand opera in Thais but folks are prancing around nude. Then there’s hula, mujra, ballet and other forms of dance in costumes. The questions then becomes how much costume is necessary to make a dance club not a strip club? At that point you are channeling Las Vegas showgirls from the fifties, who wore elaborate costumes but showed their parts.

So you define a strip club as one without any artistic content. That’s a definition from the sixties, which has been thrown out.

Working at a strip club is immoral? I think eating contests are immoral! Now. different religions may have different views of what is immoral. So, in our pluralistic society with our freedoms of expression I don’t see how there can be an outright ban on strip clubs. Iceland may be different.
The old “but it’s art” excuse always gets thrown out first. Just like those “art theatres” that only showed “art films.”

A definition from the sixties which has been thrown out?

If Americans want to call themselves civilized then we need to engage in civil behavior. They used to teach something called Civics. It defined what was expected of young people in a civilized society.

The new word for “you do it your way, I’ll do it mine” is pluralistic. Hey, in the privacy of your own home, I won’t go peeking through the windows, but if anyone wants to legalize any of that, there’s a problem. And that is the ongoing problem in this country - to make people think that whatever is OK.

Is it OK to treat women like sex objects? In the 1970s, the National Organization for Women was yelling that it was not. What changed?

Or are we back to the old “consenting adults” thing?

In a pluralistic society, respect for human dignity should be the first concern and everything should flow from that. It is not dignified to leer at mostly undressed young women. The Playboy Philosophy wrapped itself in a lot of verbiage but once the Adult Bookstore appeared, what did we get? Shakespeare? Chaucer? Graham Greene? No. We got pictures of prostitutes.

Fr. John A. Hardon writes in Modern Catholic Dictionary, “Any person, place, or thing that of its nature or because of human frailty can lead one to do wrong, thereby committing sin.” Certain things, such as pornographic images, are always, by their nature, occasions of sin.

Would it be a sin to go to an R rated movie or to read a pot-boiler type book by Father Greeley?

  1. Strip clubs are for old guys. The young guys have Internet porn, which is completely free and available 24/7.
  2. Easy sex is available everywhere. Why would any young man bother paying a stripper just to be teased, when he can just go to a bar and pick up a woman to have sex with and not even have to buy her a drink?
  3. A lot of strip club patrons are now women (including lesbians like the PM). It’s considered cool to go to one, and many young women take lessons in stripping, or watch pornos to figure out how to please their “boyfriends”. Sex has become a performance art in many circles.
  4. Iceland’s lesbian PM couldn’t care less about these women. This is just a dig at men. If they were concerned about the fate of women being used as sex objects, they would be promoting marriage.
  5. Don’t you see the blatant hypocrisy here? Feminists claim that they want to empower women to make choices about what to do with their own bodies (i.e. abortion and promiscuity) but then they outlaw voluntary choices such as stripping.
  6. These women are stripping because they make good money doing so and sexual morality is irrelevant to them. Expect them to become prostitutes instead, now that they’re unemployed.
It is an atrocity that women are not allowed to drive in some countries, or treated as mere chattel- it makes no difference whether they do thins due to tradition or religion, we can say with certainty that it is wrong.
The way women are treated correlates directly to the way that men are treated in a country. I’m tired of people pointing to Sudan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, or wherever, and saying, “Oh, the poor women are being mistreated!” Most of the people in such countries live horrible lives, including the men. Women are not being specially singled out for punishment or political censorship. In countries where life is hard, women’s lives are hard. The comparison is odious. Women here live well because everyone here lives well.

And what about the women here? What about the fact that the majority of women are no longer married? What about the women hanging out in bars and being taken home by random strangers? What about the women with children from multiple men? What about the drug abuse, the suicide, the promiscuity, the illegitimacy? What about that? How can you speak seriously of the sexual objectification of women when you live in a feminists society? Feminism leads to the sexual objectification of women.

Don’t you ever ask yourself questions like: Why are all of these women stripping, “acting” in pornos, putting nude pictures up on the Internet, going down on men in night clubs? Don’t you think we should be addressing the reason that they are acting like this in the first place?

OK. What is the reason?

Who owns these strip clubs? Women?

Sadly, radical feminism convinced some women that men were the eternal enemy.

One in five people in the US are walking around with an STD. This is better? This is the freedom people want?

A relationship with Jesus Christ is what people need. Not the money, not the drugs and not a form of self-abuse that tosses them to the curb when they are too tired or too old.

Real love and real commitment can change that.

As a matter of fact, some strip clubs are owned by women, some are owned by a unionized group of strippers, and some are merely venues where freelance strippers come to dance for tips. There are even women who strip as a hobby, in addition to having a day job. Some have college degrees. Some are married and/or have children. Far from being forced into stripping, strippers usually have to audition for a position, especially in the better venues. They don’t take just anybody, you know.
There are also a growing number of male strippers, and strip clubs catering to lesbians. Just as there are women who run bordellos and traffic in sex workers.

This is not a “oh, the poor women” issue. This is about a bunch of feminists knowing they can score points with social conservatives by doing something that means little to the bigger issues. Just like Hitler built the autobahn. (It wasn’t about preparing for war, you see. It was just about providing hard-working family men with jobs. Sure. Everyone’s on the side of the downtrodden.)

The reason women do this is because they are not under the protection of a strong husband or a strong father. Even many married women are behaving badly because their husbands are such wimps that they let them get away with anything they like. The majority of no-fault divorces are instigated by women because “I just don’t love him anymore” or “I’ve found someone new”, women are refusing to marry the fathers of their children (I know 2 cases within my own family where the men wanted to marry and the women flat-out refused.), over 70% of black children are now born out of wedlock to women in their 20s and 30s, most teenage girls have watched porn, etc.

Fact. This is what women act like when they are left to their own devices, and are free to do whatever they like. Expect to see a growing number of women acting like that in the future. Get used to it, because it’s going to get really ugly out there.

The comment about the autobahn was ridiculous. German pilots used it to take off and land during the war. The RAD worked like the American WPA (Works Projects Administration) since the global bankers back then did what the global bankers did a few years back, once again.

I’m not going to get used to anything. I have dumped a great deal of the media. There are places I will never go and things I will never do. Such nonsense existed in Rome and now where is the Vatican?

The power of God is greater than any current fad or fashion. This too shall pass, again. As people have one abortion too many, one divorce too many and one STD too many, they may consider taking a healthier and saner route.

As for obeying orders in the military it depends if it’s a lawful order let’s say a higher ranking officer ordered me to kill a civilian that is no threat to troops or mission? I would have to turn my weapon on that officer.
Defending oneself after shooting one’s officer is going to take a lot of effort. The Army frowns on it, and the presumption would be that the officer gave a legitimate order. Maybe he was given intelligence about a civilian in a field, let’s say, that the man was a threat to the troops that the men didn’t know about. The men don’t have to be individually counselled about why the order is legitimate.

Any time men contemplate mutiny or fragging an officer, they’d better have outstanding evidence to keep them from a life sentence.

The comment was very applicable. The autobahn was sold as a public works project to the German people. My point was that if you know that people (such as lesbian feminists or Nazis) don’t mean well, you should be very suspicious of everything they do.

That’s what they said in the 1970s. People, in the aggregate, will not take a “healthier and saner” route until such a route is more palatable to them than the “unhealthy and insane” route. And until then, we will continue to finance and suffer under their insanity.
