You are correct, that is not a iconographic portrayal of the Magdalen with which I am familiar. She is usually with the container or with an egg or both (when seen alone). It is not an image of the Theotokos with which I am familiar either though, but solo images of the Theotokos are not common. But I can’t make out the writing.

That icon is the Theotokos? Why then have Eastern Orthodox Christians often harshly criticized Latins for having depictions of the Blessed Mother without the Christ-child? Obviously the Byzantine Tradition has them as well.
