I have actually seen no evidence that this was any kind of activity to promote cultural sensitivity by denouncing stereotyping. Where have you heard this information?
I never said they weren’t. I said that they handled it horribly.these type of team activities are not uncommon
That doesn’t make it right.I’ve seen a lot more controversial in colleges and schools
You know a lot of your co-workers would be relieved you were there to say that, because they wouldn’t.I can easily tell you how I would handle it. I would have said, “This is demeaning and I don’t want to participate in it. I think there are much more effective ways to learn about the effects of stereotyping without actually participating in it. We don’t teach our students the desired behavior by having them practice the undesired behavior.”
Unfortunately, to me this does not seem like an unlikely scenario at all. It is the life of a teacher, in some places.I did use those search terms, but only came up with claims that it was a “team-building activity.” I’m skeptical of hearsay from a single teacher. If it was actually legitimate and justified sensitivity training, why on earth is the school district penalizing them with . . . . . . sensitivity training?
No, your link doesn’t say this at all.It was a team building activity based on country stereotypes and the teachers were to talk about the negative effects of country stereotyping and role play.
How is promoting the reasonable control of the US border bigoted?bigotry
OK. That’s validracism
How is controlling one’s borders licitly and within the rights of a sovereign state xenophobic?xenophobia
See questions regarding bigotry and xenophobia…intolerance, hatred, and callousness
Controlling the border is in no way comparable to killing an unborn child. How would you feel if a mother dressed up as a doctor and dressed up her daughter as an aborted fetus?
Because it’s not reasonable. It’s bigoted. GOP leaders say immigration bill coming in 2018 | TheHillHow is promoting the reasonable control of the US border bigoted?
Do you really think that an activity on cultural sensitivity should ask people to do something culturally insensitive?Do you really think the country stereotyping team building activity was to poke fun or talk about the positive effects of country stereotyping?
Actually, sending people home to deadly situations is effectively killing them.Controlling the border is in no way comparable to killing an unborn child.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)It’s bigoted
So, the situation of every single migrant is life-threatening?Actually, sending people home to deadly situations is effectively killing them.
You said that it was in NO WAY comparable to killing an unborn child. So, the situation of every single migrant is life-threatening?
I’m telling you NOT that every single asylee necessarily faces imminent death if turned away, although the risk is quite high, but that it is closer to killing unborn children than you seem willing to acknowledge.Controlling the border is in no way comparable to killing an unborn child.
