So, I got my dh something he really wants for Father’s Day. He’s not big on surprises, so I might just give it to him w/o any fanfare.

But, if I could come up w/ a really creative way to give it to him, I would.

The box is about the size of a small laptop.

Ideas?!

I’ll end up insulted because he’ll want the gift more than me. 😉
That must be a GREAT gift then, or you are selling yourself short. There aren’t very many men who can turn down a stark naked woman!

🙂

Well, you could make a reservation at a nice restaurant and plan ahead to have them bring the present all wrapped up and let that be his dessert. 😉

Don’t leave it some place for him to find. I did that once and it turned out very disappointing. The person I was giving it to walked past it for two days without noticing. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore so I shouted, “Look at this gift! I wonder who it’s for!”

My mother did this to me one time.

She baked a sheet cake (13 x 9), and cut it into two layers. Then she put a thin layer of it over the gift box.

Then she iced it and decorated it!!

I had no idea where my gift was until I cut the cake!

She kept saying “It’s right in front of you!!”

Duh…lol

I like this idea. But you might need to do it the night before father’s day, otherwise he might spend all of father’s day thinking thta you didn’t get him a gift…unless you did the naked thing in the morning as a separate gift. Now that would be a great father’s day!

Thanks, keep the ideas coming!

It would fit inside his Cheerios box, so that’s a possibility. So is his sock drawer. 😛

Lost the element of surprise, didn’t you?

😃

I’d be ticked if I had to have boring ol cheerios for breakfast on Fathers Day…just sayin…🙂

Dh left some clean laundry out this morning.

I slipped his gift into his shorts; I imagine he will find it when he arrives home and changes clothes after work!

He gave me my Mother’s Day gift early, so I’m doing the same. 👍

Does he like riddles? You could hide it using a series of clues. He wakes up with a post it note with a clue on it (or a riddle)… he figures out the clue and finds another clue… which leads him to the next and then the next… until he gets the final clue and finds the gift. It’s even funnier if you sneak the gift under his pillow after he starts on the clue trail (so that he ends up where he started and wonders if the box was under his pillow the whole time).

I like that idea. My parents did that to me once for a bike, because they couldn’t think of a way to wrap it.

What about wrapping it in larger and larger boxes until is it in a really big box? You know, he unwraps one box takes out another wrapped box and so on and so on.

No, I don’t think he would like a riddle.

I hid it somewhere this morning, and I believe he will find it when he gets home from work!

Getting it early will also be a surprise. 😛

I’d put it in a box that would be a really nice gift…for somebody else. For instance, you could go get a Hickory Farms gift box, the kind with all the cheeses and sausages, and then use that box to hide the gift he was really hoping to get.

Plus, you get the cheese and sausage, which is very cool if you aren’t getting it in place of what you really wanted!

If you want to be a little impish, give it to him in a box for a “near miss” or even a “total miss” gift:

A box for bath salts and fancy soaps or some other “Mother’s Day” kind of thing.

Another box that might be the right size is one of those sets for installing a water-conservating showerhead. Whoopee! I can have 1/10th the water pressure! What guy wouldn’t want that for Father’s Day!! (Nothing against conserving water, but it would be kind of like giving a mother a high-tech iron for Mother’s Day. If she doesn’t quilt, you probably blew it.)

The only thing is that the gift that would have been in the box has to be something that weighs something close to what you’re actually wrapping, or else something heavier that you could approximate by adding false weight to the package. If you give it to him in a shirt box and the real gift weighs too much more than a couple of shirts and a tie, he’ll catch on too early.

(You can even “accidentally” leave the receipt for the bait gift where he’ll see it. 😉 )

Ooooh, now we’re all gonna be on pins and needles till you come back and tell us how it went!
