“Lapsed Catholic” generally means you are not practicing and may even have more or less rejected the faith in your own life. This is not the correct term for a Catholic who appears to be sincerely practicing, but has a disagreement or a doubt over an issue. It is also not the correct term for a Catholic who appears to be sincerely practicing while believing he could be “personally against” but “publicly for” certain policies.

If we applied “Lapsed Catholic” as you want to do, then many priests and theologians in good standing with the Church could be considered “Lapsed”. Wrong use.
 
The Catholic Church is not a restaurant and Canon Law is not the buffet line.

None of these passages back up your claim. Not to mention, you are cherry picking verses from a non Catholic translation.

Lastly, Scripture speaks about judging others, as does the Catechism. It is God’s job to judge people.

If you have been given the extraordinary gift of the ability to read souls, then you have the capacity to judge. I don’t have your gift, I must leave my focus on the beam in my own eye. The state of Mr Biden’s soul or his thoughts, intent, is outside my means to read

Proof texting still does not list which public offices we are permitted to decry, your original claim, however, those of you who are more spiritually advanced with the soul reading ability would give you greater insight

No, I urged that honor and care be accorded to her Name - the Name here being the name of the Church, the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is dishonored in public by her public sin-loving members. The Church is due honor and care because of her Founder, Jesus Christ. She is His Bride.

The church do not give honor to her own name. She should give honour & glory to the Lord her God and Savior.

I’m sorry - you misunderstand greatly the place of the Church in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and in the part she was created to accomplish in God’s intention. She is sent with the life of the Spirit to complete the saving work of Christ, gathering lost human persons into His eternal Life. And she is sanctified to become His precious Bride, in the glory to come. To dishonor the Church is to dishonor her Lord and Savior, and to insult her God and Father.
 
A better expression might be “à la carte Catholics” as they pick and choose what to believe in.

A la carte Catholics sounds just like cafeteria Catholics.
“Rogue Catholics” accurately expresses the confusion and chaos that they bring about by their public dissent, undermining the institution that they supposedly believe in.
I guess another term could be “dissident Catholic”.
 
Of course we should pray for everyone that they are healthy, and get to Heaven…

And we can also pray that one party wins and the other loses, while again praying that the members of BOTH parties get to Heaven!
 
She DOES honor our Lord!

The sins of the world is actually one of the reasons why He died and founded His Church. Too, He did tell us there would be tares among the wheat so we SHOULD KNOW that our DUTY is to pray that there are less goats than sheep at the end of time.

My goodness, y’all think there aren’t sinners in this world? The sins do NOT DEFINE on our Lord’s teachings OR His Church! His life-giving Body and Blood are there, and so are the Sacraments that CAN ENSURE if they are used properly, that His Life-giving Body and Blood are being received WORTHILY.

But please do not pretend that sinfulness DEFINES Christ’s teachings as preached through the Church He actually founded.
