The way I look at it, my kids have put me in so many uncomfortable situations that I owe it to them to make them feel the same way when I’m old.

My oldest is really in for it. She stripped on the steps of the church. I caught her stuffing fake money down her shirt in the children’s museum. While I was trying to canter at Mass she yelled at the top of her lungs, “I have poop coming out of my fanny!” She has led my In-laws to believe her father abuses me. He’s a cop and was trying to show a group of women self defense moves. All these things were purely innocent but OH do I owe her.

My youngest has put me through all kinds of torments while trying to use public restrooms. She has told me how stinky I am. She has offered to make sure my fanny is clean and cheered me on as I am attempting to quietly piddle. Rarely did I get out of the bathroom without her checking to see if I did my job and telling me what a good girl I am.

My son has an issue with using other peoples toilets and while on a trip had to do # 2 so bad he was in agony. I ended up giving a three and a half year old a big lecture on how to push out poop while countless old ladies snickered in the public restroom. This child also declared he used to have one marble and now he has two. Before we figured out what he was talking about he whipped his pants down to show everyone his marbles. He even offered to let them feel if they didn’t believe him.

These are just a few of the jaw dropping situations they have gotten me into. I so owe them!!! My husband is plotting his attacks. He can’t wait to get even.

Love your Momma, she put up with you when you were little now it’s your turn.
ROFLROFLROFLROFL! 😃 I am not feeling too great today, and this made me burst out with a loud giggle! haha How funny.

I owe my kids too. LOL!

To the OP–my parents died when I was just turning 10. (within one year of each other) I haven’t been able to experience Christmas with them, for many years now…so while your mom might get on your nerves at times, just thank God for your mom. I’m sure you do, but just keep in mind that there are many who can’t celebrate with their parents, and haven’t been able to for a while. I think your mom sounds funny, actually…but, I’m sure that her quirks are bothersome. I’m not making light of your weekend…lol…just wanted you to know that you are lucky to have your parents to celebrate with. 🙂 God bless, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

the worst part of being so far away, besides missing the grandkids, is not being able to torment my daughters this way, I’m old enough to have that right, and am itching to exercise my perogative to be crazy

LOL! Something tells me annie, that you will be great at it. 😃 I mean that in a good way, of course. 😉 :rotfl: All I know is, you make me laugh!!!

You go for it puzzleannie and when you do start a thread to tell us how it all turned out!

I haven’t read your entire post yet but just wanted to send out a:

BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!!

on the thread title!

LOL

OK now that I read your thread…uhm, what are you complaining about?? Your mom sounds like a neat, but distractible lady that deserves/needs a little attention. That’s all. And you should give it! For Pete’s sake she is sewing baby-doll clothes, and that is lovely.

Now you want to have something to complain about? I offer you my mother. You’ll run home crying and screaming with joy just at the sight of yours. I can promise that.👍

Merry Christmas, enjoy your momma and all her eccentrics, because someday they’ll be gone. You’ll miss it.

My mom was always so frustrated with how my grandma would get so worried. Now, she’s doing the same thing. She called me up to tell me that if we are going to be homeless in this economy, we need to come and live with her. I thanked her and tried to reassure her that we were doing well and dh’s job was safe. She was really panicked!!

I guess I’m doomed…😃 In fact, I think I’ll be worse. I have this thing about being on time or a little early to events. I can see me nagging my kids to get me to doctor appts or weddings a hour early. Maybe if I work on being late now…

If it is comforting at all, most people don’t even notice those quirky things that embarrass us about our close relatives.

Being with people who are irritating is one of the most diffcult and sanctifying things. Of course, that’s easy to say, and hard to apply. But, a good thing to remind myself today when in a few hours I’ll be with my family.

My db always sings the “waiting on a woman” song, he tells me I fit the descriptions perfectly well… ALWAYS LATE for everything… I make my kids late for everything all ready!! I used to make my parent’s late for everything… My daughter says she hopes when she is grown and married that she is NEVER late for anything!! LOL

I know she is all ready trying to play me with those big brown eyes like I used to play my dad!! HAHAHA!! Oh man am I in for it!! 😦
