if not evolution....

I am trying to search out a possible answer to the OP question – “how did man/woman come to be??” Human life is unique so it seems to me that the first two humans, one man and one woman, could have come to be just about any place.
Perhaps one cannot fully become human without having a significant other 👍

Adaptation not part of evolution? Genetic potentialities? Are you implying that before there was land animals, the marine life had the “genetic potentiality” to have legs and walk!?

Yes after billions and millions of years, the genetic code has become very complex and is subject to genetic disorders. However, the first DNA sequences were much simpler. This is why evolution explains the change to the genetic code.
Yes indeed, the core components were present right from the get go. There are 500 or so conserved genes “immortal” that all life possesses. From these just about any thing can be built.

No, the first DNA sequences were not simpler.

And which “500 or so conserved genes” would those be?

  1. When asked about other species, why humans have rational thought and free will but other creatures don’t, why humans haven’t evolved into the next ‘higher’ species, etc, the answer appears to always be the same: It is so slow over time, you would never notice it. Well considering the billions upon billions of species, how did they all evolve from a single cell organism? And the one I always wonder about: Evolution means survival of the fittest, they evolve, etc. So why do we still have single-celled organisms? Why haven’t they all either evolved or been killed off? They’ve had ample time, no doubt about that based on the Big Bang Theory, so why are they still the same.
evolution is a lot simpler and more uneventful than you might think. humans are exceptional when it comes to making computers, cars, etc., but those are things other living things (other species) have no use for. animals are exceptional at things that suit their needs and environments. imagine being a 90yr old with no interest in technology, and being told by some kid, that car (a) is better than car (b) because it has a built-in iphone dock–as that 90yr old, you wouldnt care about that, so it wouldnt be better to you.

the only thing necessary for evolution to occur is for living things to reproduce and not make exact copies of themselves every time. theres really no better or worse/higher or lower. the fact that those single celled organisms are alive today means they have already succeeded, that they are already the fittest. whether they can fly, breathe under water, or solve a rubiks cube is beside the point–they are the surviving descendants of their parents. surviving descendants–survival of the fittest. you, mumbles, by your existence alone–no matter how ordinary a life you lead, and no matter how few or many skills you think you have–are one of the fittest incarnations of our species.

Any scientific experimentation done to confirm this? No? Didn’t think so.

And posts like this are why threads like these get banned.

Why don’t you try explaining how creatures grew senses, limbs to move, etc, instead of just posting something that provides no (name removed by moderator)ut towards thread topic.

Not quite. However, the ability to reproduce with a partner speeds up the effect of evolution through genetics.

There is more information on conserved core processes and genes being added. Do a quick search.

mind just providing a link(s)? i don’t disagree with you, i want to make sure im reading the same stuff you are.

He made a claim. It’s his job to back it up instead of expect us all to accept it as truth.

As for my explaining how creatures grew senses and limbs, I cannot. First, that’s not exactly how evolution works. Second, graduate students studying this exact subject can’t always explain such a thing, because the knowledge needed to explain such a thing is extreme. In addition, not starting with a good solid foundation of knowledge would make it impossible to explain to you, especially over the internet on a forum with post length limits. Also, I don’t have time to write a book. Third, there is a topic ban on evolution and it’s not the subject of this thread, so I’m not allowed to explain it even if I could.

Humans are more than exceptional among living organisms. Humans are an unique species different in kind from all other species.

I am becoming more and more skeptical about this subject. Based on the textbooks, and the assistance of others here, we are led to believe that simple organisms led to increasingly more complex biological systems through incremental changes that eventually became permanent. And that novel organs and limbs that did not previously exist developed over time by a series of events, sometimes described as fortuitous. Scientific papers claim that certain changes can be traced back to a particular time by examining current genetic material between species.

Before there were land animals, marine life had the genetic information to create limbs and digits.

This strongly suggests that all of the necessary information was there from the start, and switches were already installed.

Peace,

Which is why I asked for links, rather than insult him like you.

I suggest looking into it… See how far the rabbit hole goes.
Second, graduate students studying this exact subject can’t always explain such a thing, because the knowledge needed to explain such a thing is extreme.
Then it should make for a nice mind trip. I don’t know about you, but I pursue to understand everything important to the development of the human body.
In addition, not starting with a good solid foundation of knowledge would make it impossible to explain to you, especially over the internet on a forum with post length limits.
In order to get a solid foundation of knowledge, you have to get knowledge in the first place! You take the knowledge you have and think of the next step to take and go find evidence. You should want to discuss this over the Internet, because it allows for global communication… i.e. many different opinions and interpretations.
Third, there is a topic ban on evolution and it’s not the subject of this thread, so I’m not allowed to explain it even if I could.
Why not discuss this with me civilly, to show them that a thread like this is possible.

Sorry but for me there are very few other topics in life that I enjoy talking about.

I will read your link after posting this. Just putting down pre-thought to see how much it is affected.
Before there were land animals, marine life had the genetic information to create limbs and digits.
They had bones and limbs already, and the ability to use these structures in a different way, if anything natural were to happen, like water level changes or long-term evaporation that may dry out a lake or sea. Let say out of all the fish this change happened to; there is one fish to stand out. Instead of flapping up and down on its side like all the others, it uses its fins to slide to a puddle. As the water keeps drying up, the fish is forced to this over and over again. The brain, which has programmed the fishes body movement to the ‘tail wiggle’ might now notice that the side fins are being, used more. The brain would also react to the oxygen intake, and acting accordingly. If this fish was lucky enough to mate, his offspring might be affected by this change.

I have a problem fully agreeing that genetic information is already there. Yes marine life had the genetic information to create limbs, but that is because they already had limbs but in a completely different form. I am asking where did the ability to create bones, or in other words, a structural from?

I admit, I am probably way off.:o

merriam-webster.com/dictionary/evolution

“a theory that the various types of animals and plants have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations; also : the process described by this theory”
I didn’t disagree. I said not quite, as in almost but not quite. Sexual reproduction speeds up the process of diversification.
