If the Church changes its view on abortion.

I don’t know where you are from. but where I am (in California) 100% of population does not lie, cheat and steal on a regular basis(not even 50% of the population) , it is only occasional and under unusual circumstances.

On the other hand, the use of contraceptives for a large majority of women of child bearing age is pretty constant and regular. Someday soon (pretty soon I think), the Church will say it is OK.

No…the Church will say there are a lot more people going to hell !

I take it Hinduism permits contraception under certain circumstances, but not abortion? Just curious about that.

With regard to dogma and doctrine, Catholicism is not an evolving religion. It does not change or modify its core beliefs according to the culture and times. Disciplines, however, may change.

There is no one single authority on Hindu beliefs and not all sacred texts mention abortion, but all life is considered sacred - even that of animals (hence the vegetarianism). However, one text does say that the seventh month of pregnancy is when the soul enters the fetus. So I would not definitely say the Hinduism prohibits abortion at all times - perhaps after the second trimester? In any case, in Hinduism all actions including abortion will have karmic results - that is how all debts are paid.

Prohibition of contraception would of course be considered just silly by Hindus.

Catholicism may not evolve that quickly, but they have eventually given up on beliefs like the state of limbo, so will it be with contraception.

But when the Christ Returns there won’t be any time left for evolving - there will be a sudden revelation and realization of what is always ok (like contraception), what is sometimes ok although regrettable (like abortion) and what is never ok (like the death penalty).
