From a marketing perspective, its doesn’t seem like a good fit for the “Catholic” brand. In my mind the Crystal Cathedral is too much associated with Schuller - I would find it distracting.In all honesty, aside from the pipe organ, there would have to be a ton of things you would really need to add to make it “Catholic” looking. And then it depends on how much traditional look you want to add – such as statues, candles, communion rails, stained glass, confessionals, kneelers, etc. There will be critics of the restoration no matter what you do to it.
I wonder though, would the dicocese continue the Christmas concerts? Would there be people who wouldn’t notice the new management that might show up out of habit?
