Suppose that the Nazis were not defeated in World War II.
Suppose that the Nazis were still running trains filled with Jews to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
And suppose that 1 million Jews were being murdered each year in the gas chambers.
And suppose that this was all public knowledge. The Nazis were making no attempt to hide what is going on.
And suppose that all the Catholic Church did was have one Pro-Life Sunday per year, in which the there was a general statement abhorring the mass murder of the Jews in Auschwitiz. Also, some Catholic would participate in an annual March for Life, which would get about 3 minutes of coverage on the evening news.
Suppose the nations of the world would do nothing because of the people of the nations of the world had been persuaded of the Nazi point of view that Jews are not human beings worthy of the right of life. Suppose also that the United Nations has passed resolutions approving of the right of any nation’s government to murder Jewish people whenever they wish.
This all sounds unbelievable, right.
But this IS EXACTLY the situation we have been living in since 1973 in the USA, when abortion became completely legal.
In effect, THE TRAINS ARE STILL RUNNING TO AUSCHWITZ.
The Catholic Church CLAIMS to object to abortion. It issues quite a few statements against what is being done by today’s “Nazis” (Planned Parenthood, many doctors, many women having abortions, many men pushing women to have abortions, etc., politicians who are “Pro-Choice,” politicians who claim to be Pro-Life but in office like there is nothing urgent about ending abortion, being on the what seems like the 500 year plan).
But we, the Catholic People, are basically content with the Trains Still Running To Auschwitz. Tonight at my parish, and at parishes all across the USA, people will be playing bingo.
Imagine that. Playing bingo while the Trains Are Still Running To Auschwitz.
Do we Catholics deserve to be taken seriously with regard to anything we do or say?
Shame on us!
God must surely be unhappy with us, the Catholic People.
The Trains are Still Running To Auschwitz tonight. The “Jews” of today (children in the womb) are still crying out for mercy. Their innocent blood is being shed today as it was in Auschwitz from 1942 to 1945.
This year about 1 million of our innocent, vulnerable, helpless fellow human beings will being murdered in the USA in abortion clinics that are protected by federal law (and if necessary federal troops). This was just as true under the last 3 conservative presidents as it is under the current liberal president.
Shame on us. We Catholics, in the aggregate, are a merciless and heartless people.
We talk the talk but do no walk the walk.
History repeats itself.
German Catholics could have refused to serve in Hitler’s army and air force. Yes, some would have been shot on the spot. But very soon, without most of the Catholics fighting in his armies, and without most of the Catholics tolerating Hitler’s deportation of German Jews out of Germany to camps like Auschwitz (in Poland), Hitler’s evil war making and genocide would have come to a halt.
Today we Catholic play bingo and have peppy, upbeat guitar masses at our parishes while The Trains Still Run To Auschwitz.
How can anyone take us seriously?
We Catholics could do many purely non-violent things to say “NO. WE WILL NOT LET THIS MASS MURDER CONTINUE IN OUR COUNTRY.”
We Catholics could all refuse to pay any more taxes until the government stops all legal abortion. There are about 77 million of us. Could the government ever put all 77 mihttp://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/editor/color.gifllion of us in jail?
We Catholics could congregate once a week in the downtown areas of cities and towns and safely block all traffic. Could they arrest all of us? Could they prosecute and jail all of us?
We Catholics would refuse to buy anything from any merchant who will not publicly and financially support politicians who say that their number 1 priority is to stop all legal abortions in the USA.
We Catholics could start our own alternative political party that has as its sole or main objective to stop all legal abortions in the USA.
We Catholics have many smart people who no doubt could come up with even better purely nonviolent things that would have a reasonable chance of putting an end to all legal abortions in the USA within a year or two.
But instead, we play bingo while the Trains are Still Running To Auschwitz.
