Suppose that the Nazis were not defeated in World War II.

Suppose that the Nazis were still running trains filled with Jews to the Auschwitz concentration camp.

And suppose that 1 million Jews were being murdered each year in the gas chambers.

And suppose that this was all public knowledge. The Nazis were making no attempt to hide what is going on.

And suppose that all the Catholic Church did was have one Pro-Life Sunday per year, in which the there was a general statement abhorring the mass murder of the Jews in Auschwitiz. Also, some Catholic would participate in an annual March for Life, which would get about 3 minutes of coverage on the evening news.

Suppose the nations of the world would do nothing because of the people of the nations of the world had been persuaded of the Nazi point of view that Jews are not human beings worthy of the right of life. Suppose also that the United Nations has passed resolutions approving of the right of any nation’s government to murder Jewish people whenever they wish.

This all sounds unbelievable, right.

But this IS EXACTLY the situation we have been living in since 1973 in the USA, when abortion became completely legal.

In effect, THE TRAINS ARE STILL RUNNING TO AUSCHWITZ.

The Catholic Church CLAIMS to object to abortion. It issues quite a few statements against what is being done by today’s “Nazis” (Planned Parenthood, many doctors, many women having abortions, many men pushing women to have abortions, etc., politicians who are “Pro-Choice,” politicians who claim to be Pro-Life but in office like there is nothing urgent about ending abortion, being on the what seems like the 500 year plan).

But we, the Catholic People, are basically content with the Trains Still Running To Auschwitz. Tonight at my parish, and at parishes all across the USA, people will be playing bingo.

Imagine that. Playing bingo while the Trains Are Still Running To Auschwitz.

Do we Catholics deserve to be taken seriously with regard to anything we do or say?

Shame on us!

God must surely be unhappy with us, the Catholic People.

The Trains are Still Running To Auschwitz tonight. The “Jews” of today (children in the womb) are still crying out for mercy. Their innocent blood is being shed today as it was in Auschwitz from 1942 to 1945.

This year about 1 million of our innocent, vulnerable, helpless fellow human beings will being murdered in the USA in abortion clinics that are protected by federal law (and if necessary federal troops). This was just as true under the last 3 conservative presidents as it is under the current liberal president.

Shame on us. We Catholics, in the aggregate, are a merciless and heartless people.

We talk the talk but do no walk the walk.

History repeats itself.

German Catholics could have refused to serve in Hitler’s army and air force. Yes, some would have been shot on the spot. But very soon, without most of the Catholics fighting in his armies, and without most of the Catholics tolerating Hitler’s deportation of German Jews out of Germany to camps like Auschwitz (in Poland), Hitler’s evil war making and genocide would have come to a halt.

Today we Catholic play bingo and have peppy, upbeat guitar masses at our parishes while The Trains Still Run To Auschwitz.

How can anyone take us seriously?

We Catholics could do many purely non-violent things to say “NO. WE WILL NOT LET THIS MASS MURDER CONTINUE IN OUR COUNTRY.”

We Catholics could all refuse to pay any more taxes until the government stops all legal abortion. There are about 77 million of us. Could the government ever put all 77 mihttp://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/editor/color.gifllion of us in jail?

We Catholics could congregate once a week in the downtown areas of cities and towns and safely block all traffic. Could they arrest all of us? Could they prosecute and jail all of us?

We Catholics would refuse to buy anything from any merchant who will not publicly and financially support politicians who say that their number 1 priority is to stop all legal abortions in the USA.

We Catholics could start our own alternative political party that has as its sole or main objective to stop all legal abortions in the USA.

We Catholics have many smart people who no doubt could come up with even better purely nonviolent things that would have a reasonable chance of putting an end to all legal abortions in the USA within a year or two.

But instead, we play bingo while the Trains are Still Running To Auschwitz.

The bishops have spoken out about abortion and have been clear about it. The problem now is that many who call themselves Catholics refuse to listen to the bishops.

Yeah well, I guess I believe that many Catholics nowadays are somewhat on the lax side, including those who are “Catholic” pro-choicers. I, for one, believe there isn’t too much more we could do about it. But do I believe it’s possible we’ll have to answer to God in the next life for Catholicism in general not doing everything we can, including myself, to stop abortion? Yes, I can see that. But who knows.

if society really considered it murder, they would stop it.
it apparently doesn’t.

We understand the horror of Auschwitz now, but I’m not sure we did in 1943. There had been rumours of atrocities, but western society was not willing to admit that genocide could exist.

We finally understood the horror when the camps were liberated and we saw the photos of the bodies stacked like lumber, and the gas chambers, and when we started hearing the stories of those that survived.

In the same way some of us have seen the photos of aborted babies, but society in general has not seen the evidence of the horror of abortion.

Like many have said recently, modern science and technology now show more clearly that a fetus is a human being and not a clump of cells.

Yet we have Catholic Universities like Notre Dame crowning the abortion messiah.

This seems like some Anti-Catholic propaganda you would see in today’s literature books at school. Quite frankly, the Church as an institution is not to blame, but a lot of the Church (the catholic community) is to blame. Considering the fact that a lot of them voted for Obama, choose whatever they want to believe, believe people should have the option to abort, don’t listen to the Pope or any Bishop, they have failed. Dont blame the bishops, they are doing what they can. Dont blame anyone but yourself, Im pretty sure it is frowned upon to criticize the Church community saying it has failed, while you are a part of it. Criticize yourself, the world wont get better if the Church doesnt work as a whole. “They play bingo” You focus on the negative, thats one bad thing. Yet look at all the good we are trying to do, we have already accomplished a lot. For example, One rosary is ignored, though it is one of the most powerful things we have. There are millions of rosaries said each day, yet you ignore this fact and get made over a game of bingo? This is coming from a teen too. Im not a theologian or anything, Im just a kid who wants to be a saint in today’s society.

they do? how?
sincere question
I think this is referring to Notre Dame giving Obama an honorary degree from their University.

Now to the OP, you’re giving the Catholic laymen too much credit…

I mean just look at this site, at least a little more than a 1/3 of the people who label themselves “Catholic” also believe in Social Liberal policies like contraception, abortion, gay rights. There is no unity among Catholic laity, heck even the Priesthood is filled with Leftists who do nothing to support the real Catholic position.

Second, Have YOU stopped paying your taxes, organized protests, and all the other things you accuse Catholics of ignoring? You are asking for Catholics from all ranges of the economic ladder to essentially make themselves criminals to their government as well as destroy themselves financially. Will it be worth it when the American secular majority ignore our sacrifice, continue to provide legal abortion, and all Catholic are now financially ruined?! You’re arguement is equal to the immoral likes of Sarah Silverman who demands that the Vatican sell off all their property to feed children for maybe a month at most.
First off not every German soldier had a hand in the Final Solution, so I fail to see why the fact that they didn’t resist conscription bothers you so much. Even Pope Benedict XVI was conscripted into the Hitler Youth; are you damning our Pope for concerning himself with his own well being instead of just refusing and dying there and then?

This is not only an incongruous analogy, it is insulting and demeaning to the meaning of the Shoah, both to Jews and to the Righteous Gentiles. 😦

Sometimes we “play bingo” because we are Pro-life. And we understand that all human life is worth wild. We see that the only time old Widow Boudreaux has human contact that isn’t at a doctor’s office is at Mass and at the Bingo at the parish hall. We play Bingo with her cause it affords us the opportunity to show her she is a valued member of our parish as we laugh with and talk with her and she teaches us many valuable lessons.

Sometimes we “play Bingo” because we are pro-life. And at our “Bi-lingual” parish we are being led by our Pastor and Bishop to remember that we are one Body of Christ; and some of us just because of the color of our skin, accents when we speak, or the very broken English we are trying to master at the ESL classes are in very real danger of discrimination and having our God given rights denied us even those of us who are “legal”. Playing Bingo together allows us a safe non threatening way of getting to know each other and putting aside our respective predjudices and fears.

Sometimes we “play bingo” because we are Prolife. And after being out in the real world spending time marching for the basic right to live; forwarding to everyone we know on social media the latest pro-life news and info.& taking a lot of flack (sometimes even from family and freinds) for it; spending hours praying at abortion mills, fasting and praying as we learn of someone being put to death even after witnesses have changed their stories;we spend time with each other at the Bingo just to be around like minded folks- our parish family from who we can draw strength and replenish.

Sometimes we “play bingo” because we are pro-life. And we’ve just spent 15 hours with a woman who changed her mind about abortion and we desperately sought with her someone who would reverse a two day process that was begun to end her baby’s life.( the child was born and is thriving). And we go to the bingo to catch our breath again and to be with others who understand what a miracle that was and will help us give thanks and praise to God for it.

Sometimes we “play bingo” because we are pro-life and after spending a week feeding and bringing water to those devastated by hurricaines and tornados we are tired and just need a little mindless recreation before we figure out our next move to care for the precious lives we’ve encountered is going to be.

Yes, “the trains are still running” and even though we are a ways from stopping them-some of us have decided to get on board. And until the world learns to value the lives of those who are already born, I think perhaps it’ll be too difficult to truly appreciate that abortion kills children.
Our task must be to BE PROLIFE in ALL areas of life. As we quit rolling our eyes at the scantily clad teenage girl and validate her dignity as a human being and child of God we are “Pro-life”. Maybe she learns that she doesn’t have to use sex to find “love” and she doesn’t end up trying to decide if she’s going to kill her baby.

I am pro-life. And I live that whenever I see a young person looking for a job and going about it all wrong- be it in dress, attitude,or lack of communication skills. I’ll call him or her aside and explain I don’t have a job for them; but would like to share some experience I’ve gained as a prospective employee and an employer. You’d be surprised how receptive a young person who really wants to work will be. As a pro-life person I share what I can so that another may find, earn and make a better quality of life. And yep! I “play bingo”.

Dear chosen people (you who use that as your name here and all of our"older brothers" in the faith of our Father Abraham)

I admit I have also used the Holocaust as an analogy or comparison for abortion. I mean absolutely no disrespect. And I apologize for the offense.

Twelve years ago, I had only seen movies and documentaries, read books, or heard speakers regarding the Shoah.I thought it was terrible, but it was foreign and distant from me. I was removed.-- I had just started a new carreer as a muscle therapist. One of my first clients was a woman in her 80’s. When I went into the treatment room we laughed and talked. As I undraped her arm, I noticed a series of numbers. She was so outgoing (and I so naive) I asked if she had been involved in some kind of marathon. She got really quiet and so did I when I remembered her last name. Our tears began to flow together hers hit the pillow at the same time mine hit my shirt.–Hitler and his attrocities were no longer far removed from me. They landed on my treatment table. I apologized, she said “Sweetheart, you didn’t know. But you do now and we must never forget and we must not allow it to happen ever again.”

When I turned away from my “pro-choice” views and embraced pro-life beliefs and attitudes, the thought of millions of lives being destroyed was incomprehensable to me. When the comparison to millions of Jews, and other “undesirables” was made, it was the only thing that seemed relative to me. Certainly I mean no disrespect. And certainly I don’t wish to add further insult - not even to a Jewish brother or sister who may hold views of abortion that differ from mine. The horrors endured by that lady I encountered on my table and so many others is not a wound I want to add salt to.

You’ve given me something important to think about.

Catholics are in the forefront of all pro-life efforts, everywhere. Not the Catholic Church, but everyday Catholics and Catholic priests. Do I wish that abortion was brought into every single homily, every Sunday from now until it was ended? Yes, I do. It truly is a modern holocaust and God is surely angry with us for killing over 50 million of His children.

I talk to many people from the denominations when I am at Planned Parenthood for 40 Days for Life. All of them express how grateful they are to the Catholic Church, for continuing to keep the issue of abortion alive. 40 Days is a Catholic-founded organization, which has spread all over the world in just a few short years!

Our Church doesn’t budge on contraception and it doesn’t bend on abortion. Yet I have seen many cars with rosaries hanging from the rear view mirror drive into Planned Parenthood, with a woman ready to have an abortion.

I give to my local pro-life coalition. I actually give them more than I do to my usual parish. They are fighting to save babies. My pastor has never been down to the killing fields, not once. We have a nice property, and the pews just got re-done, which cost a heck of a lot of money. But babies die in abortion clinics every day. I wish my pastor could even say the word “abortion.” It just about chokes him.

A lot of Catholics are ashamed because they have either had an abortion, or helped their girlfriends to have one. They would rather not think about it now. When the priests do not talk about it, they don’t have to face their sins and acknowledge that they aren’t doing a thing to stop abortion from continuing.

Don’t blame the Catholic Church for Nancy Pelosi. I think she should be excommunicated publicly but that probably isn’t going to happen, I’ll bet she is a huge donor to her parish. When Catholics continue to vote for the party whose platform includes the right to abortion as well as euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, contraception, and artificial insemination technologies, this is what we end up with. VOTE PRO LIFE!

We all do what we can. I got my arse off the pew about 5 years ago - will you?

This is not only an incongruous analogy, it is insulting and demeaning to the meaning of the Shoah, both to Jews and to the Righteous Gentiles. 😦
Why? Why is it insulting? I don’t understand that the loss of over 50 million children, just in this country alone, since 1973, can’t be considered a holocaust. You know, that is not a trademarked word.

Do you know the history of Planned Parenthood? The founder of Planned Parenthood was a eugenicist just like Hitler. She wanted to wipe out the blacks from America after slavery was ended, she called them “human weeds.” Her goal has been hidden unlike that of Hitler. But she was indeed, a eugenicist.

Watch this video for the whole story behind contraception and abortion. It is split into 13 parts so you can watch it a little at a time. I think you will see the connection between abortion and the Jewish Shoah.

Yes, the crux of the problem is that our country (US) does not consider it as murder.
I love our country and rule of law, but am not happy with this belief.

I too didn’t like the OP analogy, and it missed the Nazis were killing every group they didn’t like, not just Jews
