That is true Robert. I’m a mental health therapist. There are alternatives.I’m on Pxail for depression and it virtually eliminates the libido. Talk to a doctor.

How would you actually know something like that? What if you learned that normal libido is much less than the hyper-sexualized society which we live. These burning desires that people have for sex is not normal.
Completely and obviously untrue.I think that you are staring a rant that is too generalized. Libido is part of the human nature, any disordered desire (e.g. lust) by its own definition is not part of the human nature. We can prevent and control disordered desires and behaviors through the virtues, we do not really need pills except in some extremely difficult cases.
Good for you:thumbsup:What’s normal libido
Sexual intercourse twice a day, every day?
One a day, every day?
Twice a week?
Once a week?
Twice a month?
Once a month?
Once every six months?
Once a year?
Isn’t it an individual thing? That varies naturally between individuals and couples?
Oh well. I think normal is highly over-rated
**I’ll stick with being abnormal and enjoying wild passionate atheistic animalistic sexual unions with my husband every day of the week **

The problem is that that is not possible under the Catholic ideal that virtually everyone is a virgin until marriage.Once very nine months
Your poor wife
She must be worn out
No, I’d never take any kind of drug that interfered with my natural libido. I don’t think anyone else should either.
Just find a husband or wife with matching, and adjustable libido and you’re good to go.

Nice to know your real feelings on the matter.Sex is icky. but the desires for sex are too pleasurable and overrides all the ‘ickyness’ of sex. Some of what goes on in sex is really disgusting to me. Acts like anal intercourse are really abnormal! **Freud believed that everything outside of straight intercourse is abnormal, and I tend to agree. **You get ridiculed these days for having this type of view of sex. Our hyper-sexualized society takes the abnormally high libido to be normal.
It felt good to express my honest opinions on sex. It’s not as great as the media makes it out to be. We are over-sexualized beings. When the sex drive is replaced with true spirituality, I will burst with joy!!!Nice to know your real feelings on the matter.
That you’re more motivated by the fact that you find sex disgusting than any real moral issues concerning it.
But our sexuality is meant to bring us closer to God.It felt good to express my honest opinions on sex. It’s not as great as the media makes it out to be. We are over-sexualized beings. When the sex drive is replaced with true spirituality, I will burst with joy!!!
Not so with everyone. The clergy is to remain celibate. Single men, like myself, ought also remain celibate. But our sexuality is meant to bring us closer to God.
(Hint hint: marriage is a sacrament.)
me too! :clapping:If there were an anti-depressant that didn’t reduce libido, I would take that in a heartbeat, but since there isn’t, I take one that does reduce libido.
It really bothers me that the atheists get it, but so many Catholics do not.Good for you:thumbsup:
Just because many theists choose to see the sex drive as some sort of monster to be overcome is no reason why we have to.

So what? Not so with everyone. The clergy is to remain celibate. Single men, like myself, ought also remain celibate.
But practicing celibacy involves sacrificing one good for another. If a person practices celibacy simply because he or she finds sex distasteful, I don’t see how that gives glory to God. If you are called to marriage but are not yet married, you treasure your sexuality as a precious gift to be given to your spouse. Yes, this means avoiding lust, but it does not mean despising sex altogether. Even if it keeps you from sin, I can’t see how treating sex as a curse before marriage will help you and your spouse after you are married. Not so with everyone. The clergy is to remain celibate. Are you inferring that the clergy and single men have to suffer with hyper sexualized libido? But practicing celibacy involves sacrificing one good for another. The mere fact that they are not having sex (or should not be) does not mean that they will, by default, have a problem with “hyper sexualized libido.” Experiencing normal sexual desire is not evidence of hypersexualization and is not anything that needs to be repressed or despised, just treated according to their station in life (as is the case for married people - it is not as if you suddenly get married and “anything goes.” Everyone is asked to respect their sexuality and not abuse it or others. This is called chastity.)Are you inferring that the clergy and single men have to suffer with hyper sexualized libido?
I respectfully disagree.A libido reducing drug could be of great benefit to society. (God also created earthquakes, but they are not much good!!!)The mere fact that they are not having sex (or should not be) does not mean that they will, by default, have a problem with “hyper sexualized libido.” Experiencing normal sexual desire is not evidence of hypersexualization and is not anything that needs to be repressed or despised, just treated according to their station in life (as is the case for married people - it is not as if you suddenly get married and “anything goes.” Everyone is asked to respect their sexuality and not abuse it or others. If a person has a medical and/or psychological problem, regardless of their marital status, I would advocate getting help. But sexuality in general, and having sexual feelings, is not disordered at all. It is normal, natural, and a gift from God - whether we are clergy, religious, single, or married.
Obviously, there is nothing much more that I can say to you, since you have ignored the substance of every post I have made in reply to your increasingly bizarre arguments. If you think sexuality, by nature, is as awful as a natural disaster, there is really not much I can do about that.I respectfully disagree.A libido reducing drug could be of great benefit to society.
